간호사의 메이크업이미지가 의료환경에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서는 의료 환경의 변화와 관련하여 병원에 근무하는 의료 종사자와 입원 환자 보호자를 대상으로 그들이 갖고있는 간호사의 메이크업 이미지와 용모와 태도에 관해 파악하고 분석하여 간호사의 메이크업 이미지가 의료 환경에 미치는 영향에 관해 연구하고, 간호 전문직의 발전에 도움이 됨과 동시에 간호사의 이상적인 메이크업 이미지 언어를 조사하여 간호사의 이미지 향상을 위한 기초 자료로 제공되고자 시도되었다. 본 논문에서는 간호사의 이미지 구축과 의료 색채 환경과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 의료 환경의 개념과 의료 색채 환경으로의 변화에 대해 알아보고, 간호사의 역할과 간호사 이미지 개념에 관해 살펴보았다. 이미지는 지극히 주관적인 개인의 생각 속에 존재하는 것으로 허상일수도 있으나, 간호사에 대한 사회의 궁정적 이미지는 간호사의 신념과 가치, 자신감에 영향을 미치며 그로 인해 간호사의 업무 만족도를 증진시키고, 결과적으로 질적인 간호 제공을 통한 간호 전문직의 수준 향상에 기여하게 될 것이다. 이처럼 어떤 전문직에 관한 긍정적 이미지가 그 분야의 전문성 발전에 있어서 꼭 필요하다고 생각할 때, 간호사의 이미지를 확인하고, 주위 환경인 의료 색채 환경과의 관계를 알아보는 것은 간호 전문직의 발전에 필수적으로 요구되는 사항이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 설계는 간호사의 메이크업 이미지를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 연구의 대상자는 2002년 4월 현재 서울 시내 소재의 C대학 부속 병원에 입원한 환자와 보호자, 의료 종사자로 총 134명이었으며, 대상자는 임의 표출로 선정하였다. 간호사의 메이크업 이미지 측정 도구는 윤은자(1995), 이돈순(1995), 정지숙(2000)이 만든 도구를 연구자가 수정·보완하여 39문항으로 구성하였다. 자료는 자가 보고식 설문지를 이용하여 2002년 4월 15일부터 2002년 4월 20일까지 수집하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS프로그램을 이용하여 백분율과 평균, 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test 로 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 간호사의 첫 이미지 즉 대표적 이미지는 힘든 직업이며, 헌신 봉사적 이며, 단정하고 깔끔하다는 것이었다. 둘째, 간호사의 메이크업 이미지에 대한 인식은 여성보다 남성, 미혼보다 기혼에서 친근감 있고 마음 편하게 해주며, 부드럽고, 현대적이라고 느끼며, 내과계 환자, 보호자가 외과계 환자, 보호자에 비해 업무 성격에 어울린다고 느끼고 있었다. 또한 의료 종사자에 근무 직종에 따라 임상병리사는 의사 및 사무행정직에 비해 간호사의 메이크업 이미지가 전문직업인 다운 모습을 보여주며 적극적이고 상냥하고 단아하게 느끼고 있는 것으로 보였다. 셋째, 간호사의 용모와 태도에 관한 인식 또한 여성보다 남성, 미혼보다 기혼이 간호사로서 전문적 긍지를 갖고 있으며, 인간적이며, 다정하고, 친숙하고, 품위 있고, 우아한 것으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 간호사가 지녀야 될 외모와 태도 중 가장 중요하다고 생각하는 것에 대해서는 '친절하다', '인간적이다,' '다정하다', '친숙하다', '말씨와 표정의 부드럽다', '간호사로서 전문적 긍지를 갖고 있다. ' 등으로 나타났다. 넷째, 이상적인 간호사 이미지는 '다정하다', '친숙하다,' '인간적이다,' '부드럽다,' '친절하다' '상냥하다', '생기 있다' 이었으며, 의료종사자와 비의료종사자 모두 부드럽다, 친절하다, 생기 있다가 높게 응답됐으며, 대표적 이미지에서 좀더 따뜻하고 안락해지는 의료 환경의 변화와 함께 대상자의 요구도 변하고 있음이 나타났다. 다섯째, 간호사의 메이크업 이미지와 용모와 태도간에도 정 상관관계가 나타났다. 이는 간호사의 메이크업 이미지 즉, 외향적인 이미지가 이상적인 이미지로 적절하게 구축되어 진다면 그 외 용모와 태도도 긍정적으로 받아들여진다는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 의료 환경의 변화와 함께 외모로 한정되는 간호사의 메이크업 이미지가 긍정적이라면 용모와 태도도 긍정적으로 받아들여지며 직업에 대한 이미지 역시 긍정적인 방향으로 인식 될 수 있다고 본다. 의료 환경의 변화와 더불어 간호사의 이미지도 변화되어야 하며 병원에 대한 요구도가 높아지고 있는 현실에서 간호사의 서비스뿐만 아니라 용모 및 태도 둥의 면에서도 이상적인 이미지 정립이 시급하다고 판단된다. 또한 이상적인 간호사의 메이크업 이미지는 간호전문직으로서의 직업 만족도를 높이는 요인이 될 수 있으며, 간호사의 이미지 향상과 병원 이용 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있다는 것을 예측해 볼 수 있다고 본다. 단순한 직업 여성의 화장 이미지에 그치지 않고, 그 직업에 적합한 전문적이고 체계적인 접근이 필요하며, 좀더 세분화된 연구를 통해 메이크업 이미지를 구축하려면 예술학적인 지속적 연구가 필요하다고 본다. 그러나 본 연구는 개인의 심상인 이미지에 관한 연구로서, 개개인의 관심여부에 따른 반응으로 심리학적인 측면에서 시도된 연구이므로, 측정의 모호함을 가지고 있다. 또한 연구 대상 집단의 제한성으로 인해 일반화하기 어렵다고 판단되었다. 따라서 추후 다른 집단과의 비교연구 및 다양한 집단에 관한 지속적인 후속연구가 요망된다고 본다.|This thesis shows a fundamental data for the improvement of nurse image through researching an ideal makeup image, as it is conducted a survey of professions who are engaged in hospital and patients' family, in connection with each different environmental circumstance to understand how nurse makeup changes their feature and attitude. Therefore, this study will give us a practical method, how nurse makeup effects on a medical envirounent, and it will contribute to the development of a nursing profession. This study is examined both a role of nurse and a concept of nurse image, and it also has researched on looking for an ideal medical environment and the change of a medical color effects to see the connection between the construction of a nurse image and the color effects from medical environment. Yet, image can be virtual which is an extremely subjective matter, but a affirmative image for a nurse have an influence on the faith, value, and confidence of a nurse, it also increases a employee- satisfaction. It will be a great contribution to raise the standard of nursing through adding a new nurse image in quality, as any specialized field needs an affirmative professional image to build its industrial expansion. Therefore, producing a nurse image, in relation with medical color effects by its environment are indispensable facts for the development of nursing profession. This dissertation is directed by a narrative texture to examine the image of a nurse make-up. So that, the subject of this study were a clinic, patients and their family in the affiliation hospital of C university, located in Seoul, in April of 2002. There were surveyed by 134 people in total, and they were picked out randomly. The present writer completed the questionaire upto 39 questions which were based on the survey done by Yun Eun-Ja(1995), Lee Don-Sun(1995), Jeong Ji-Suk(2000) before. The data were collected from 15th to 20th of April, 2002 using a self-report and it was inspected in a percentage, an average, a standard deviation, t-test ANOVA, Scheffe test with SPSS. Summarizing the results of that are as follows ; 1. A typical image of nurse are hard, devoted, hygienic and smart. 2. Wearing a makeup yields better image for female nurses than males. Also the married appears more friendly, tender, modern than the single, if they powder their face. Additionally, patients in medical cases think more positive against nurse makeup than surgical patients. Lastly, therapists consider the makeup image of nurse makes them more professional, kind, elegant, and positive. 3. Views from female and the married about nurses makeup are that the make-up lead them to believe that they have a pride as a specialist, human, affectionate, intimate, dignified, and graceful, and all these points are deemed most best matters. 4. An ideal image of nurse are intimate, dignified, human, tender, kind, fresh, and gentle, Tenderness, kindness, and vitality were answered by many surveyed people, regardless of both medical workers and non-workers. It is said that they are changing with new medical environment which getting comfortable more and more. 5. There is a strong inter-relationship between nurses make-up and theirs feature and attitude. It means that nurses make-up bings the positive appearance of a nurse. In those respects, limited nurses' feature and attitude can be created in an affirmative look by adding a positive make-up, stepping with the changes of medical environment. furthermore, it promotes their images better in terms of the status of profession. Nurse image has to be changed, running parallel with the changes of a medical environmnent. also their feature, attitude and service need to be set up an ideal image, according to the importance of clinical environment today. An ideal make-up for nurse would cause promoting a its job-satisfaction, so that, it would produce the great number of industrial facts to develop both the image of a hospital and nurse in society. The nurse make-up should be looked in both more academic and aesthetic ways to establish a fundamental subdivided makeup image for professional, not only for women every day make-up. However, this thesis is about an image which is very subjective terms, so that it has few vague aspects of survey which has researched in psychological effects, cause of a limited personal opinion about an image. This subjective term has a limit to generalize into a certain system academically. It means that the study of nurse image is needed to take more broad sources, such as comparative approaches between two groups or multiple researches though various subjects of people.
