Abstract
This study investigates the effects of lifestyle characteristics on satisfaction with Korean cosmetics and repurchase intention among Mongolian women consumers and examines the mediating role of K-Beauty favorability in the relationship between lifestyle characteristics and satisfaction with Korean cosmetics. Lifestyle characteristics were classified into self-management orientation, information utilization orientation, planned consumption orientation, and beauty interest orientation. K-Beauty favorability was categorized into quality trust favorability, cultural and image favorability, and brand favorability. Satisfaction with Korean cosmetics consisted of emotional satisfaction, cognitive satisfaction, and experiential satisfaction, while repurchase intention was divided into behavioral loyalty and attitudinal repurchase intention.
For the empirical analysis, a survey was conducted among Mongolian women who had experience using Korean cosmetics. A total of 521 questionnaires were distributed, and 518 valid responses were used for the final analysis after excluding incomplete or unreliable responses. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 29.0 through frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and mediation analysis. These analyses were performed to verify the reliability and validity of the measurement scales, examine the relationships among the variables, and test the proposed mediating effects. The major findings are summarized as follows.
First, lifestyle characteristics had a statistically significant positive effect on satisfaction with Korean cosmetics. Specifically, self-management orientation, information utilization orientation, and planned consumption orientation significantly influenced emotional, cognitive, and experiential satisfaction. These findings suggest that consumers' lifestyles and value orientations serve as important determinants of product satisfaction.
Second, lifestyle characteristics exerted a significant positive effect on K-Beauty favorability. The four lifestyle dimensions positively influenced quality trust favorability, cultural and image favorability, and brand favorability. Moreover, lifestyle characteristics emerged as the strongest antecedent of K-Beauty favorability, indicating that consumers' self-management needs, information-seeking behaviors, and planned consumption tendencies play important roles in developing favorable attitudes toward K-Beauty.
Third, K-Beauty favorability had a significant positive effect on satisfaction with Korean cosmetics. Quality trust favorability, cultural and image favorability, and brand favorability significantly influenced emotional, cognitive, and experiential satisfaction, although the effects differed across the satisfaction dimensions. These findings indicate that consumers' positive perceptions, cultural affinity, and trust in Korean cosmetic brands contribute to higher levels of post-purchase satisfaction.
Fourth, satisfaction with Korean cosmetics had a significant positive effect on repurchase intention. Higher levels of satisfaction increased both behavioral loyalty and attitudinal repurchase intention, suggesting that positive consumption experiences encourage continued purchasing behavior and favorable word-of-mouth intentions.
Fifth, K-Beauty favorability partially mediated the relationship between lifestyle characteristics and satisfaction with Korean cosmetics. In other words, lifestyle characteristics not only directly enhanced satisfaction with Korean cosmetics but also indirectly improved satisfaction through K-Beauty favorability. This finding demonstrates that K-Beauty favorability serves as an important mediating mechanism linking consumers' lifestyle characteristics to their satisfaction with Korean cosmetics.
In conclusion, the lifestyle characteristics of Mongolian women consumers significantly influence the formation of K-Beauty favorability, which in turn enhances satisfaction with Korean cosmetics and ultimately strengthens repurchase intention. In particular, K-Beauty favorability was identified as a crucial mediating factor connecting lifestyle characteristics with consumer satisfaction.
This study is academically meaningful in that it empirically examines the structural relationships among lifestyle characteristics, K-Beauty favorability, satisfaction with Korean cosmetics, and repurchase intention, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for understanding the consumption behavior of Mongolian women consumers toward Korean cosmetics. Furthermore, the findings offer practical implications for Korean cosmetic companies by highlighting the importance of developing differentiated marketing strategies that reflect consumers' lifestyle characteristics and their K-Beauty favorability in the Mongolian market.|본 연구는 몽골 여성 소비자를 대상으로 라이프스타일 특성이 한국 화장품 만족도와 재구매의도에 미치는 영향을 규명하고, 이 과정에서 K-뷰티 호감도의 매개효과를 실증적으로 검증하였다.
