오브제를 응용한 아트 메이크업의 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대의 미술은 복합적이고 다양하게 표현되고 있으며 메이크업 또한 다양한 미술활동에 결합되어 새로운 예술 활동으로 표현되고 있다. 그 가운데 오브제는 창조적인 실험정신과 자유로운 조형성을 형성하여 기법이나 재료의 제한이 만들어낸 장르의 구분을 없애고 일상생활과 예술과의 경계를 무너뜨린 새로운 조형개념으로 인정받고 있으며 메이크업에도 적용되어 디자인 개발에 혁신을 가져오고 있다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 아트 메이크업과 현대 미술의 주요 흐름인 오브제를 결합시켜 오브제 양식의 아트 메이크업을 연구하였으며, 현대 미술사에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 오브제 개념을 살펴보고자 하였다. 특히 메이크업 분야 중에서도 다양한 표현과 재료의 도입으로 메이크업의 영역을 넓혀준 아트 메이크업에서의 오브제를 중심으로 오브제가 현대 메이크업에 미친 영향과 그 특징을 고찰하고자 하였다. 그리고 다양한 오브제의 소재와 기법을 이용하여 특징을 살릴 수 있는 아트 메이크업 디자인을 작품제작을 통해 제시하고자 하였다. 즉, 아트 메이크업과 오브제에 대한 기본적 이론을 검토하고, 개성적인 아트 메이크업 이미지연출을 위하여 오브제를 응용한 메이크업 디자인의 또 다른 과정을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구의 아트 메이크업에 대한 개념과 오브제 개념에 대한 이론적 고찰과 오브제를 응용한 아트 메이크업 작품제작을 통해서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현대에 표현되고 있는 아트 메이크업은 자기 의식과 개성의 표현을 중시하고 그 표현기법에서도 무한한 표현의 가능성을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 오브제의 개념은 입체주의 작가들에 의해 표현과 실체를 탐구하기위한 수단으로 도입되어 다다이즘에 와서는 기존의 가치나 전통에 대한 부정으로 선택되어 본격화되었으며 초현실주의에 의해 그 영역이 인간의 의식에까지 확대되었다. 이후 팝아트에서는 일상적인 사물을 오브제로 도입하여 예술과 생활과의 거리를 좁혀 나갔으며 계속해서 그 범위와 영역을 확대하고 있다. 또한 메이크업에서의 오브제는 다양하게 표현되어지고 있으며, 아트 메이크업에 의한 새로운 형식에 대한 모색은 메이크업 디자인의 분야에도 영향을 미쳐 현대 아트 메이크업 작가들에 의해 오브제 작품들이 시도되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 아트 메이크업에 표현된 오브제의 소재는 종이, 깃털, 반짝이, 레이스, 비즈, 머드 등 인체에 사용 가능한 것이라면 어떠한 소재에도 제한이 없이 매우 다양하게 사용되고 있으며 조형적이고 창의적인 표현효과를 주고 있다. 이것은 기존의 소재에 대한 고정관념에서 벗어나게 하였으며 독특하고 다양한 아트 메이크업 디자인에 창조적인 아이디어를 제공하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 넷째, 본 연구의 작품제작을 통해 일상 소재의 오브제를 아트 메이크업에 응용하여 재구성함으로써 다양한 소재개발과 함께 창의적이고 풍부한 디자인을 전개 할 수 있었고 아트 메이크업 또한 조형예술의 한 분야로 이해하게 되었다. 이와 같이 다양한 소재개발과 함께 오브제 개념은 아트 메이크업에 응용되어 예술적 표현력을 높여 줄 것으로 기대된다.|The purpose of this study is to combine art make-up with the object, one of the major currents in the modem art to produce an object-style art make-up, and thereby, review the concept of the object positioned importantly in the history of modern art. Among various areas of make-up, art make-up has served to expand the scope of make-up by introducing various expressions and materials. In this study, the influence of the object over the modem make-up, particularly the art make-up is reviewed together with the characteristics of the object. This study is aimed at suggesting concepts and designs of the art make-up which can be unique by using diverse objects, materials and techniques. To this end, basic theories about art make-up and object are examined, and thereupon, differentiated make-up design processes for rendering of unique art make-up images are systemized, and thereby, another process of the make-up design applying objects is discussed. As a result of reviewing the concepts of art make-up and object and producing some art make-up works applying the objects, the following conclusions could be drawn; First, the art make-up expressed in our modern time tends to emphasize artists’ self -consciousness and unique expressions, while many artists endeavor to use various expression techniques. Second, objects are diversely expressed in make-up. The efforts to explore new styles in art make-up are affecting the make-up design discipline, and thus, modem make-up authors are attempting various object-style works. Third, it has been found that the objects used for art make-up are very diverse: paper, feather, glitters, race, beads, mud, etc. Thus, art make-up can be more formative and creative expressions. In other words, art make-up authors are departing from the fixed idea of the conventional materials to strike creative ideas for designing unique and differentiated art make-ups Fourth, it has been found through production of make-up works that ordinary objects can be applied to art make-up to be recomposed in creative ways for abundant designs and therefore, that make-up can be understood as a genre of plastic art.
