에스닉 스타일을 응용한 아트 메이크업 작품에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 아름다움을 표현하는 한 방법으로 자연환경과 사회환경에 직접적인 영향을 가지며 그 시대의 미에 대한 현실을 반영해 주는 메이크업을 지역적 특성과 에스닉 메이크업에 나타나는 조형적 특성을 분석함으로서, 이를 바탕으로 예술적 이미지 표현의 한 형태인 아트 메이크업으로 재조명하고자 하였다. 에스닉 메이크업이 지역별로 나타나는 형태를 고찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 역사적인 운명과 문화적인 배경을 함께 가지고 있는 사회 공동체의 대다수 구성원들에 의해 민속집단의 독자성을 표현한 것으로, 모든 대륙의 민족들이 그들만의 독특한 방법으로 장식하고 변화를 추구하고자 하는 욕망을 따랐다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 민속적이고 토속적인 아름다움을 표현하는 에스닉 스타일은 원시성에 대한 향수를 표현하고자 했으며, 타문화를 재평가하려는 것으로의 가치관의 변화가 반영된 것으로 현대 패션의 테마로 부각되기 시작하였다. 뷰티 메이크업은 그 시대가 추구하는 미인형에 맞도록 얼굴을 보다 아름답게 만드는 것이 일반적이나, 현대 패션에 나타난 에스닉 메이크업은 독창적 예술적 표현을 나타내고자 하였다. 이를 조형적 측면으로 분석한 결과 세계의 다양한 민속적 취향을 받아들여 원형 그대로의 모습이 아니라 다양한 형의 미를 살렸고, 원시적인 색채의 사용과 더불어 현대적 감각에 맞게 질감을 강조하였으며, 민속적인 패턴을 응용한 디테일을 사용함으로서 새로운 감각으로 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 에스닉 스타일의 자유로운 상상력과 표현력 그리고 독특한 조형미는 예술적 이미지 디자인의 모티브가 될 가능성이 많다는 것을 알고 이를 바탕으로 아트 메이크업으로 작품을 제작하였다. 에스닉 스타일을 응용한 아트 메이크업 작품을 통해 본 연구자는 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 일반적인 형식이나 개념에 얽매임 없는 개방적이고 창조적인 정신이 메이크업의 외적 표현인 부수적인 수단으로서의 의미에서 벗어나 하나의 예술적 이미지로 확대되어갈 것으로 생각된다.|In the thesis, art make-up, which, as a way of ethnic and artistic expression of an image, reflects the esthetic reality of the contemporary under direct influence of natural and social environmental interaction of the contemporary, was looked into, on the foundation of the analysis of regional characteristic and formative characteristic reflected in art make-up. From the investigation of the regional characteristic of esthetic make-up, the findings have been as follows: Most of social communities which have common historical and cultural backgrounds have their identities and ways of expressing them, so that many continental peoples had their way of decorating things and pursuit for a change. The expression of ethnic beauty was tried to express the nostalgia toward aboriginality and it began to surface as a subject matter of modern passion, which was to revaluate another culture and reflect ion of some change in their sense of values. In general, the beauty make-up has been about making faces looks beautiful, from the contemporary point of view. But these days, the ethnic make-up reflected in modern fashion tries original artistic expression in its own way. The analysis from formative point of view is that various ethnic tastes were mellowed into so that the archetype developed into various formative beauties. And with the use of its primitive color, the sense of modernity was also emphasized, and the application of ethnic pattern presents new feelings. The art make-up was built on the basis of free imagination and expression of ethnic style and unique formative beauty can serve as a motive for artistic image design. The observation of art make-up work built on the application of ethnic style convinced that open and creative mind which is not restricted by general formality and concept will expand its scope into an artistic image out of supplementary tool of make-up expression.
