약물 의존자의 치료재활에 관한 연구
- Abstract
- The borders of the world have been erased by Globalization. As a result, drugs, one of society's ills, are pouring into Korea. Therefore, now is the time to prepare for alternatives and find a suitable solution to drug abuse.
If we look at the history of drug abuse in Korea, mostly opium and methadone were abused in the 1950s and 60s, marijuana in the early part of the 70s, methamphetamines since the 1980s, and mostly a new generation of narcotics in recent years.
An improvement in the Korean consciousness and strong criminalization laws havelowered the level of drug problems compared to neighboring and developing countries. However, every year about 10,000 people are arrested because of illicit drug use, and drug consumption has expanded to include ordinary people such as housewives and students.
Korea has recently started to show an interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of substance dependents. Also, the importance of rehabilitation has gradually increased.
Sports therapy can play in important role in treating drug abusers damaged by psychiatry and physically dependent upon drugs and also in preventing relapses.
Sports therapy is a program which changes negative addictions like those to narcotics into healthy addictions such as sports.
If good medicines and programs do not change the patient's consciousness, the expected effect is of course reduced. However, sports therapy evokes positive thinking and voluntary participation from drug dependents, which in turn increases the effects of treatment.
There are no comprehensive drug studies into sports therapy in the field of drug dependency. Thus, further studies related to this therapy are needed.
