아트 메이크업에 나타난 오브제의 소재에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대의 아트 메이크업은 다양화, 전문화라는 시대적 상황 속에서 자율성을 표현하고, 각 미술 양식에 나타났던 조형 예술 의지와 표현 기법, 소재들을 재조명하는 행위를 통해 창조적인 실험 정신을 보여 주고 있다. 아트 메이크업이란 인간의 신체를 대상으로 내적 이미지의 세계를 표현하는 예술의 형태로서 다양한 소재로 신체를 장식하고 개성적인 자아를 표현하는 미의 세계라 볼 수 있다. 신체를 예술의 차원으로 끌어올리는 아트 메이크업은 획일화된 미의 개념이 아니라, 원시 이래로 그 가치의 기준이 달라짐에 따라 다양하고 개성화 된 거대한 문화로서의 형성이라 말 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 아트 메이크업을 새로운 차원의 독자적인 예술의 체계로 넓혀준 오브제의 개념을 연구하고 오브제 표현이 나타난 아트 메이크업의 유형을 살펴보며 그에 사용된 오브제의 다양한 소재들을 분석함으로써 현대인의 미적 의지가 얼마나 다양하게 표현되고 있는지를 탐구하고자 한다. 그리고 현대 문명의 대표적인 산물인 대량생산된 공업제품들을 소재로 이용하여 디자인한 아트 메이크업 작품을 제작하여 소재의 다양성과 확장성을 보여 주었다. 일상과의 경계를 허문 오브제의 개념은 인간 생활과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있는 아트 메이크업에 응용되고 있다. 미술에서 표현의 주체가 작가이듯이 메이크업 아티스트들의 선택에 의해 사물들이 본래의 의미를 상실하고 조형의 자유로운 변형매체로 새롭게 인식되는 것이다. 현대 사회에서는 인간의 내적 이미지의 세계를 표현하는 화장의 분야로서 뷰티 메이크업에서 아트 메이크업의 미적 표현을 넓히는 새로운 대중예술을 형성시키기에 이르렀으며, 아트 메이크업의 시각적 화려함과 다양한 소재를 이용한 독특한 디자인이 가지는 상징성으로 대다수의 사람들이 매력을 느끼게 된다. 오브제는 작가의 표현에 적합한 것이라면 어떠한 것이라도 소재로 가능하며 개성과 미의식을 표현하는 수단으로 사용되고 있다. 재료의 한계성을 극복하려는 노력과 함께 소재가 가지고 있는 본래의 의미에서 해방시켜 새로운 의미를 발견하게 되는 계기를 마련하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 아트 메이크업에 표현되는 소재를 콜렉션지나 메이크업 서적, 패션 잡지 등을 통해 새의 깃털, 나뭇잎 종이(색종이 신문, 비닐소재, 레터링, 색상 테이프등), 섬유(레이스, 망사 등), 스톤, 시퀀, 스팽글류, 금속류, 기타재료(스트로우, 옷핀, 알루미늄, 금속수세미, 클립, 지퍼 나사못, 캔뚜껑 등)으로 구분하여 지금까지의 소재에 대한 고정 관념을 탈피하게 되었다. 이런 소재의 확장은 독특하고 다양한 아트 메이크업 디자인에 창조적인 아이디어를 제공하는 계기가 되었다. 작품 제작은 현대 산업 문명사회에서 생산되어지는 컴퓨터 부품이나 공업제품과 같은 비예술적인 오브제를 모아 장식적인 요소로 활용하여 다양한 표현으로 재구성하였다. 이상과 같이 아트 메이크업에 나타난 오브제 양식은 전통적인 디자인의 개념에서 벗어나 소재의 확장과 창의적인 디자인의 발상을 가져와 인간 내면의 세계를 자유롭게 반영하여 아트 메이크업 디자인에 무한한 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 일상에서 존재하는 모든 사물과 재료가 아트 메이크업의 소재가 될 수 있으며 앞으로 더욱 적극적인 디자인 개발과 여러 가지 새로운 시도가 이루어 질 것으로 기대 된다.|Modem art make-up expresses autonomy in the diversification and professionalism oriented periodic situation. It also shows creative experimental mind through the activity of re-illuminating the expression technique and material of formative arts which have been presented by each Art. Art make-up is the art of presenting the world of mental image working with human body and the world of beauty which expresses the individuality by ecking oneself out with many kinds of material. Art make-up raising human body to the higher dimension, Art is not just a notions of beauty but can be mentioned as a culture which is having been diversified and individualized since the primitive according to the change of values. Modem Art make-up is the field of art re-illuminating human body and it is designing a human body with creative techniques. This thesis is the study of object which have broaden the position of art make-up to the unique field of art and try to find out the role of object presented in the art make-up not in the art. Object has been existed from the ancient times but the name has not been called. Since then through Dada and Surrealism, the name has been settled and people invested object with the role of revealing the dream, desire and unconscious world. And after the pop art has been appeared, object escaped the limited world of art and broke the boundary with ordinary life and it keeps widening its meaning and role. The object which broke the boundary with ordinary life has been applied to the make-up which have had deep relations with ordinary life. In the Art, the main subject of the expression is the author and like this, in the make-up, the make-up artist endows the objects with new meaning and they will be newly acknowledged as a free formative media of art. Art make-up is the most dynamic and active expression and is the change of understanding which is going to deny typical and general recognition. In modern society, most of the people are being attracted by the unique design and visual splendor of art make-up using various material. The formative object appeared in the art make-up has not been emphasized by itself but just treated as a dyestuffs so, it cannot be self -reliance. The formative object can become any kind of material if it is suitable to present the authors intention. The effort to overcome the limit of materials and to free the materials from the original identity to the new significance is being pursued. In this thesis, you can find out that the materials used for art make-up is becoming various like naturals, metals, papers, ordinary things, ready-made articles, twinkling materials and the fixed idea about material will be changed. Expansion of material became the momentum to provide unique idea to art make-up design. With the basis of preceding thesis, it was possible to understand for me that art make-up is a field of a formative art. The work was done by expressing image made of materials from ordinary life. Fabrics, zipper, parts of machines were used as a decoration for various presentation. The object which expressed in the art make-up is free from the traditional design concept and has brought new concept of unique design and therefore it presents limitless possibility for art make-up design. Objects and materials existing in the ordinary life can become the materials of art make-up. In this regard, more positive and dynamic development and attempt for new design is being expected.
