Abstract
Today, military environment is rapidly changing because of the improvements of the scientific technology. Even though the army has the military arms of the high-end technology, these arms are used by humans and everything in the military starts from the humans. So a leader’s role, whether it is outside or inside the army, is important in the society of men. This is especially true for a group that needs a ‘change’; it needs a leader with the abilities and right visions to properly lead the group. In this way, the modern army requires a leader who can lead in an environment that is shifting forward.
Military is different from the social world because of its uniqueness; it is organized, enforced, and ranked, and it has the missions to take the victory and maintain peace.
Also, inside the timeline of the changing world, the army has issues to solve to undergo a transition. First, the army needs to improve the negative images of its self that are viewed and thought by the outside world, and within the army, the lack of internal relationships between soldiers due to individualism is being a issue. Also, lack of leadership of amateur leaders who follow its predecessors just to adjust the military life needs to be taught properly. Not only that, with inspirational help., the leaders that are used to authoritarianism and can not adjust to forever changing timeline needs to be changed into a new paradigm.
To solve theses problems, solutions can be found within the army, but successful CEOs of the outside world also has it. Because like how strategic leader puts his best effort on the internal security and war to achieve victory, the CEOs of the companies can not survive in the social world, full of war and survival, without new inventions with vision and value. Also, companies without special visions and values can not last long in the world market. Through examples like America’s multinational stock company GE’s , “God of Economy” , world’s best electrical company, Korea’s Samsung Company’s , and Korea Fila’s , we can apply their leaderships into military to achieve future-oriented military leadership.
This can be achieved by summing up their keys to success, such as their unique colors, their breaking through many hardships, and their presentation of a vision that became the dreams of many persons. Also, CEOs formed a partnership with the best like-minded people, and they did not stop to settle down and build a castle, but with will of reformation, they kept on on the new road ahead.
To win, we have to sum up these key points and set a model of a leader.
First, present a vision. Second, increase capability. Third, decide a value. Lastly, acquire subordinations of individual specializations and variable conditions.
Leadership is a relationship. What this means is that a leadership is a relationship between a leader and the one who follows him. So how to make a relationship and keeping it makes the perfection of a leadership. By materializing concepts and theories and achieving and improving the educational programs and systems for educating strategic leaders, I am sure that it will contribute to the development of strategic leadership.
