바디 페인팅에 나타난 기호성과 상징성에 대한 연구

Abstract

This thrsis represents three characteristics of body painting in terms of semiosis and symbolism. First, this thesis illustrates the imfortance of semiosis in the visual representations of the body painting. Second, the visual semiosis characteristics of the body painting is categorized by the five functions of a visual symbol-mark. The five functions are creation, exprrssion, emersion, statement and illusion. Third, this thesis analyzes the several distinguished body painting art works according to the five functions of a semiosis-mark. The semiosis study of body painting shows us that body painting has all the five functions of visual semiosis. Especially body painting has the function of communication as a non-lingual text, and distinguished illusional function as a three-dimensional moving art works.
