바디아트의 질감표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

문화의 발달과 더불어 현대에 있어 바디아트는 지속적인 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 패션쇼, 연극, 퍼포먼스 등에 볼 수 있었던 바디아트는 색과 형태 위주의 작품 표현이 많이 이루어져 있어 표현적인 특성이 강한 질감 표현에 대한 작품의 필요성이 요구된다. 바디아트에 있어서 질감표현은 온 몸의 피부를 통해서 끊임없이 지각되고 기억되는 촉각적 질감과 우리의 대뇌에 기억되고 저장되는 시각적 질감이 포함되는 것으로서 아티스트가 만들어 내는 새로운 질감의 근원은 자연의 질감에 근거한다고 볼 수 있다. 바디아트의 질감은 매우 중요하며 작품의 이미지나 성격에 큰 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다. 또한 사용하는 재료와 도구에 따라 질감의 효과가 다양하며 이것은 여러 가지 느낌을 달리하고 효과를 극대화 시킬 수 있다. 본 연구는 질감을 신체에 적용해 봄으로써 시각표현에서 어떻게 적용되고 응용될 수 있는지 가능성을 모색하고, 질감을 효과적으로 전달하기 위하여 다양한 표현 방법으로작품을 제작하였다. 이에 바디아트의 예술성을 높이고 앞으로 바디아트분야 작품 활동에 유용한 자료를 제공하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있었다. 작품제작은 시각적인 질감과 촉각적인 질감을 고려하여 회화적 표현기법, 그래픽적 표현기법, UV발광물감을 이용한 표현기법, 에어브러쉬를 이용한 표현기법, 오브제를 활용한 바디아트 표현 기법을 응용하여 아쿠아 컬러크림, 머드팩, 석고팩, 은박, 금박 등의 재료를 활용하여 작품제작을 하였다. 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 바디아트에 표현된 질감은 화폭에서처럼 붓으로 그리는 회화적 기법이나 에어브러쉬를 이용하여 실제로 만져지지는 않지만 시각적으로 느낄 수 있는 사물을 실물과 똑같은 모습을 묘사하여 시각적 질감을 표현하였다. 촉각적 질감은 촉각에 의해 대상을 파악하는 질감으로 머드팩, 석고팩, 은박, 금박, 글리터스 등의 재료들을 사용하여까치까칠한, 미끈미끈한, 딱딱한, 건조한, 매트한, 갈라지는, 뻑뻑한, 두꺼운, 화려한,글리터스한, 거친, 부드러운 등으로 표현하였다. 둘째, 시각적 질감과 촉각적 질감을 응용한 바디아트 작품제작에는 다양한 재료를 사용하여 입체적 표현과 질감의 특성들을 보여줌으로써 바디아트의 표현양식에 있어서 질감이 적용되고 응용될 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다. 셋째, 질감의 특성을 모티브로 삼은 바디아트는 묘사위주의 표현에 치중되는 것에 얽매이지 않았기 때문에 독특한 이미지를 창출하고 예술성을 높이는 데 도움이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.|Along with the development of culture, body art is continuously developing in modern society. Since body art that has been introduced to fashion shows, dramas or any other performances has developed to works with a focus on color and shape, those works for the expression of touch are required. The expression of touch in body art includes tactile touch that is constantly sensed and memorized through the skins throughout the body and visual touch that is memorized and saved in the cerebrum, and the origin of a new touch that is created by an artist is based on the touch of nature. The touch of body art is very important. It has great influence on the image or characteristic of a work. In addition, the effect of touch varies depending on materials and tools used, which may give different feelings and maximize the effects. This study explored the availability that touch may be applied to visual expression and how it may be applied as it is applied to human body, creating works in a variety of expression methods in order to effectively communicate it. The objectives of this study include enhancing the aesthetics of body art and providing useful data to work activities in body art field. This study aims to explore the possibility as to how touch in materials is applied to visual expression by applying it to body, to enhance the aesthetics of body art by making works in various ways in order to efficiently communicate touch in materials to others, and furthermore to provide useful data to work activities in the body art field. As a methodology, review was made on body art and touch in materials with a focus on literature related to body art and touch in materials. A total of nine works that centered on touch in materials were made by applying picturesque expression skill, graphic expression skill, and that using UV luminous colors, that using air brush, and body art skill using objet and by using materials such as aqua color cream, mudpack, plaster pack, silver foil and gold foil. The results of study are as follows: First, visual touch in body art is often expressed with the use of picturesque skill or it is often expressed by depicting buildings or things using air brush as if they were real, even though they cannot be touched in practice, but can be felt visually. Tactile touch is identified with the feeling of roughness, sleekness, hardness, dryness, split, stiffness, thickness, splendidness, glitter, toughness and softness and expressed using materials such as mudpack, plaster pack, silver foil, gold foil, and glitters. Second, body art works with application of visual touch and tactile touch present the possibility that touch in materials may be used and applied in the expression pattern of body art, by using various materials such as aqua color cream, mudpack, plaster pack, silver foil, gold foil, glitters, and wood shavings. It is found that body art with a motif of touch in materials helps create unique image and enhance artfulness because it is not bound by depictive expression.
