Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze and separate the hair style under a design principle and face types, and then study the illustration techniques which are necessary for design creation and expression to figure out how far such techniques can be utilized for hair design. Hair illustration is mainly used in educational dimension to explain most of works, though lots of people meet with the hair illustration through exhibition, contest, beauty magazines, journals and the like. Also, the importance of hair illustration, which is used as a method of new trend development and communication with customers in the cut journals among the beauty art journals, can be well inferred from the fact that students who major in beauty art through the courses of illustration in the relevant department practice the hair illustration and beauty illustration. It is further expected that the utilization of hair illustration increase as the beauticians have more chances to meet with the illustration through a domestic famous art contest or hair sketch. The hair illustration plays an important role in completing styles, but the utilization of illustration is actually low, though it is the basic level of works. Currently, the limitation of hair illustration appears to be the lack of consultation time due to short awareness in some customers who want faster application, and the insufficient utilization of hair illustration by the unprepared hair designers. In this sense, it is advisable that the application method of hair illustration should be settled by encouraging many beauticians to develop their utilization ability of hair illustration and distributing it as such.
