학문 목적 한국어 학습자를 위한 요약하기 전략 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 학문 목적 한국어 학습자의 대학 수학 능력 향상을 위한 설명적 텍스트의 구조를 활용하는 요약하기 전략을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 학문 목적 한국어 학습자들의 성공적인 대학 수학을 위해 요약하기는 중요한 학업 기능(study skills)이다. 요약하기는 텍스트를 읽고 중심 내용을 분석·종합하여 이해하고, 이를 바탕으로 재구성하여 표현하는 과정을 거치는 통합적 활동이다. 본 연구에서는 학문 수행과 밀접한 관계를 가지는 설명적 텍스트를 통해 요약하기 전략을 제시하였다.

이를 위하여 2장에서는 설명적 텍스트의 개념과 구조 유형을 살펴보고, 요약하기의 정의와 요약 규칙에 대해 논의하였다. 3장에서는 현재 한국어교육에서 요약하기 교육의 현황을 알아보기 위하여 학문 목적 교재를 분석하였다. 먼저 요약하기 활동을 통해 교재에서 나타나는 요약하기 전략을 분석하고, 설명적 텍스트에 적합한 텍스트 구조를 활용한 전략을 분석해 보았다. 다음으로 요약하기에 영향을 미치는 텍스트 변인을 외적 요인과 내적 요인으로 나누고 분석하였다. 4장에서는 이론적 배경과 교재 분석 결과를 바탕으로 요약하기 전략을 제시하였다. 요약하기는 대상 텍스트의 변인에 따라 난이도가 달라지며, 요약하기의 결과도 달라진다. 그러므로 대상 텍스트의 수준을 3단계로 나누고, 3단계를 학습 단계에 적용하여 단계별 요약하기 전략을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 5장에서는 앞의 내용을 요약하고 앞으로의 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

학문 목적 한국어 학습자는 성공적인 대학 수학을 목표로 하므로 대학 수학을 위한 학업 기능을 향상시켜야 한다. 요약하기는 기초적인 학업 기능으로 다른 학업 기능과도 밀접하므로 더욱 중시되어야 한다. 또한 요약하기는 텍스트가 반드시 전제되어야 한다. 텍스트의 변인에 따라 요약하기의 난이도 조절이 가능하고, 이를 통한 학습 단계 설정이 가능하다. 설명적 텍스트의 구조 활용 전략을 요약하기 학습 단계에 따라 교육한다면 학문 목적 학습자의 요약하기 기능 향상을 기대할 수 있으며, 나아가 성공적인 대학 수학이 가능할 것이다.|The purpose of this study is to summarize strategies for using the expository text structure to accomplish study for Korean learners of academic purpose. Summarizing is very important study skill for successfully accomplishing university study for Korean learners of academic purpose. At first, summarizing is a process of reading, analyzing and comprehending the core contents. Based on this, summarizing is integrated activities through the process of reconstruction and representation. This study aimed at presenting summarizing strategies through the expository text closely related to academic study.

In chapter 2 treats of concept of the expository text and structure, defines summarization and summary rules. In chapter 3 analysis the teaching materials of academic study for examining education status of summary in current Korean education presently. First of all, I analyzed summarizing strategies through the summarizing activity with the teaching materials, then strategies of using the text structure suitable for the expository text. Next, I analyzed the variable text factors dividing them into external and internal factors that have influenced on summary. In chapter 4 I presented the summarizing strategies on based on teaching material analysis and theoretical background. According to the variable text factors, summary varied in difficulty. so summary results are different. Therefore I split the levels of text into 3 steps, applied stages of learning then present the strategies of summary in steps. Finally, in chapter 5 I presented a summation of the foregoing contents and upcoming research direction.

The learners of Korean for academic purpose should improve their study skills for successful university study. As a basic study skill, summarizing is important because it is closely related to other study skills. Texts must be premise to summary. According to the variable text factors, teachers are able to control the difficulty levels and set learning stages. We can expect to improve the skill of summary when learners follow the study steps with the summarizing strategies of the text structure, furthermore learners will achieve successful university study.
