初等學校 敎科專擔制의 運營實態와 改善方向에 관한 硏究
- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate the operational realities of the departmental system in elementary school and its improvement. For this purpose, the questionnaire research was conducted for teachers, children and parents.
Data were statistically treated using the SAS(Statistical Analysis System) program. Percentage and chi-square test were conducted by background factor. An attempt was made to test the difference between groups at the levels of P<.05, p<,01 and P<.001.
Based on the findings, the following conclusion was drawn:
First, seeing that teachers, children and parents all accepted the departmental system as the good system, it is necessary to expand the number of school hours per week by departmental teachers per school year through securing departmental teachers and budgets for them in the future and provide administrative and financial support for the departmental system to extend to the subjects of the computer and science as well as English and artistic and physical education.
Second, as for the criterion for assignment of departmental teachers, it is desirable to assign the applicant and teacher with speciality, train and educate departmental teachers on the basis of major and minor system in college to secure excellent departmental teachers with specialized knowledge and function of a particular subject or use both the reeducation of incumbent teachers and the training of departmental teachers in the college of education.
Third, the departmental system had a great effect on the reduction of teachers' burden of classes and on the enhancement of specialty in teaching profession/the normalization of the curriculum and the improvement of the teaching-learning method. In this light, it is necessary to provide for the incentives to secure departmental teachers.
Fourth, the countermeasure for the loss of classes due to the official trip or sick leave of the departmental teacher presented as the greatest problem of the departmental system is required to be taken at the national level. Great interest and consideration of the management are required that can resolve a sense of alienation between teaching members.
Fifth, it is the urgency of the special space for departmental teachers to exhibit specialized instructional ability and techniques that is most required to provide support for departmental teachers. Also, it can be said that it is the urgent task to provide the space exelusively for departmental teachers to develop and research teaching materials for classes.
Sixth, an attempt was made to investigate the opinion on the appointment of the elementary departmental teacher as the holder of the certificate of qualification for secondary leacher. As a result, it was found that it is necessary to introduce the departmental teacher into the elementary school in recognition of the specificity of elementary curricula that the teacher in charge should take responsibility for guidance and human nature education. And the medium and long term teacher demand and supply system should be aetively introduced such as the prolongation of the retirement age of teachers and the like.
