얼굴유형에 따른 헤어스타일의 형태학적 특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

21세기에 이른 지금은 시각문화가 다른 어떤 문화보다 중시되어지고, 특히 외모에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 헤어스타일의 중요성도 더해지고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 국내 미용계는 이미 오래 전부터 양적으로 눈부신 발전을 거듭하고 있으며, 학계 또한 최근 동안 비약적인 질적 향상을 이루었다. 다른 분야의 조형 활동과 달리 헤어디자인은 자신이 스스로에게 행하기가 어렵기 때문에 반드시 디자이너의 손과 창의력에 의하여 이루어진다는 점이 특징이며 이러한 의미에서 디자이너의 역할이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 얼굴형과 헤어스타일에 관한 이론적 배경과 헤어커트 스타일을 연출하여 앞으로 헤어스타일을 디자인하는데 도움을 주고, 미용관련 업계의 디자인 개발 및 판매 촉진에 응용할 수 있는 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위한 연구방법은 얼굴유형과 헤어스타일에 관한 관련 서적과 논문, 패션전문잡지 등의 문헌자료와 인터넷 자료를 중심으로 고찰 및 분석하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 실제 헤어커트 디자인을 제시하였다. 문헌연구로는 얼굴의 조형적 특성 및 얼굴 유형별 요소를 살펴보았으며, 동양과 서양의 얼굴유형 분류방법에 대한 고찰과 차이를 분석하였다. 또한 헤어스타일의 형태학적 연관성으로 헤어커트 형태 기본요소, 헤어커트 스타일의 분류, 헤어스타일 디자인 요소 등에 대하여 고찰하였다. 그리고 얼굴 유형에 따른 헤어스타일의 형태학적 특성으로 얼굴유형과 헤어스타일의 상관관계, 얼굴유형과 헤어 커트 스타일의 구성요소와 디자인 효과에 대하여 살펴보았으며 이러한 문헌고찰을 바탕으로 얼굴유형에 어울리는 헤어커트 디자인을 제시하였다. 본 연구 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 얼굴형에 맞는 헤어스타일 제시결과 현대 헤어 미용이 조형적 차원에서 이루어지고, 얼굴의 일반적인 특성에 따라 디테일한 선의 변화와 질감 등의 적절한 조화는 전체적인 스타일의 이미지와 개성미를 표현하는데 중요한 의미를 갖는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 얼굴의 형태와 두상 골격구조에 따라 디자인 요소의 적용방법이 달라지면 이미지 효과를 다양하게 전개할 수 있고, 얼굴의 형태와 두상의 골격구조 이미지 등은 헤어스타일을 결정하는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 모발이라는 소재에 조형성과 구성미를 지닌 형태적 구성을 적용시키기 위하여서는 얼굴형과 두상의 골격구조에 대한 조화가 전제되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 헤어스타일 이미지는 디자인 요소 어느 한 가지에 의해 형성되는 것이 아니며 그 과정은 매우 다차원적이다. 헤어스타일 이미지 형성에 영향을 미치는 것 중 가장 기본적인 것은 디자인의 요소인 형태, 색채, 질감이므로 먼저 각 요소가 형성하는 이미지의 특성을 파악하고 디자인 구상에 이를 반영한다면 효과적인 이미지 창출이 이루어 질 것이다. 넷째, 개개인의 얼굴형과 두상의 골격구조는 선천적인 외모조건이다. 그러나 개개인이 가지고 있는 조건들에 디자인의 요소와 원리를 잘 활용시킨다면 외모가 주는 단점을 보완할 수 있다. 다섯째, 자신에게 어울리는 정해진 헤어스타일은 없고, 어떤 헤어스타일이든지 자신의 얼굴형에 어울리도록 조정만 한다면 과감히 자기 변신을 시도해 자신을 아름답게 표현할 수 있다. 그러므로 토탈패션감각에서 헤어스타일의 연출은 무척 중요한 요소라는 것을 알 수 있다. 여섯째, 얼굴유형 분류를 동양철학적 관점과 서양의 과학적 접근 방법에 의한 비교 연구를 통해 살펴본 결과와, 직접 얼굴형에 맞는 헤어스타일을 제작해 본 결과 우리나라에 적합한 얼굴유형은 5가지로 분류하는 것이 적합함을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 관상학적인 삼형질론과 우리나라의 체형인 목, 화, 토, 금, 수 오행의 기운이 적용된 다섯 가지 얼굴형에 효과적인 헤어스타일을 요약해 보면 다음과 같다. 원형 얼굴 헤어커트를 할 때는 타원형의 얼굴에 근접하도록 디자인해야 하며, 이때 전체적인 스타일은 클래식하고 현대적인 것이 좋다. 앞머리의 라인은 사선을 이용한 착시효과를 적용하여 탑을 기점으로 모발길이에 단차를 주고 질감을 강하게 넣어 볼륨감을 형성시키는 것이 효과적이다. 계란형 얼굴은 같은 계란형이라도 이목구비의 차이와 턱이 가늘다거나 이마를 드러내고 있다든지 각각 다소특징이 있으므로 그것을 살려서 모발의 길이와 디자인을 생각하고 매력의 포인트를 주어 신선함을 주도록 한다. 역삼각형 얼굴은 이마를 감출 수 있는 길이를 선택하고 질감을 가볍게 해주는 것이 좋다. 또한 컬러의 대비를 이용한 분할로 하악골을 드러내어 얼굴형을 보완해주는 것도 효과적이다. 얼굴형이 명확히 드러나는 헤어스타일은금물인데 헤어스타일의 포인트는 턱선의 아름다움을 살리면서도 컬과 웨이브로 부드러움을 더하도록 한다. 사각형 얼굴은 각이 드러나는 짧은 머리나 스포츠형의 스타일을 피하는 대신, 사선을 이용하여 착시효과를 유도하고 비대칭라인을 강조하여 각진 형태를 완화시키는 것이 좋다. 머리의 흐름은 원칙적으로 안쪽말이로 하여 사이드에 양감을 내주지 말고 턱을 싸잡아 주듯 꾸민다. 바깥쪽으로 삐치면 각진 것이 강조되므로 주의한다. 긴 얼굴은 비교적 얼굴윤곽이 예쁜 편이나 다소 지루해 보이는 인상으로 볼쪽으로 볼륨을 살려주는 스타일이 좋다. 이렇게 하면 가로선이 강조되어얼굴이 짧아 보이는 효과가 있다. 긴 얼굴형에 가장 안전하고 이상적인 헤어스타일은 단발형으로 앞머리를 잘라서 내려주면 귀여운 이미지를 줄 수 있다. 이상에서와 같이 헤어스타일이 얼굴형에 따라 적절하게 조화함으로써 신체적 외모에서 줄 수 있는 시각적 효과에 관한 기초적 자료를 얻을 수 있다. |The purpose of this study was to review the theoretical background of facial types and hair styles and thereupon, provide for the data useful to development of hair cut styles conducive to hair style designs as well as development of designs and promotion of sales by beauty businesses. For this purpose, the researcher reviewed books, dissertations, fashion special magazines and other relevant literature and Internet data about facial types and hair styles and thereupon, suggested some hair cut designs. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, as a result of suggesting the hair styles for each facial type, it was confirmed that the modem hair beauty can be realized in terms of formative aesthetics, and that detailed linear changes and harmonic textures expressed depending on general characteristics of the faces are important for expression of an entire style image and original beauty. Second, if design elements should be applied differently depending on facial shapes and head skeletal structures, images would be able to be effected in diverse ways, because facial shapes and head skeletal structures play important roles in determining the hair styles. Third, since the most basic elements affecting the hair style images are such design elements as form, color tone and texture, effective images could be created if the characteristics of the images created by such elements should be understood enough to be reflected in design ideas. Fourth, if design elements and principles should be well applied under individuals' conditions, the handicaps of the look would be surmounted. Fifth, as a result of comparatively analyzing the facial types from the perspectives of the Oriental philosophy and according to the scientific approach and as a result of designing the hair styles depending on facial types, it could be concluded that the facial types of the Korean people may be divided into the following 5 categories; For the round facial type, the hairs should be designed and cut as if the face were oval. Here, the entire style needs to look classical and modem. The front hair line needs to be voluminous with different hair lengths centered about the top and a strong sense of texture, taking advantage of the optical illusion effects. For the egg-like facial type, some attractive points need to be set in consideration of hair length and design to look fresh. For the inverted triangular facial type, it is better to select the hair lengths concealing the forehead and reduce the sense of texture, In addition, it will be effective to divide the face using the color contrast and thereby, reveal the lower jaw to complement the facial type. For the rectangular facial type, short or sports hair style should be avoided, because the angles are revealed, and instead, an optical illusion needs to be induced by using the oblique lines, while the asymmetric lines may well be emphasized to relieve the angled shape. The safest and most ideal hair style for the long facial type may be a short hair style. If the front hairs should be cut to be lowered, a pretty image would be rendered. As discussed above, the researcher could obtain some basic data about the visual effects of the look by appropriately harmonizing the hair styles with the facial types.
