레온 박스트 작품의 조형적 특성을 응용한 네일 디자인 제안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 무대 미술가이자 무용의상 디자이너로 활동한 예술 작가인 레온 박스트의 예술세계에 관한 연구로 생애를 통한 작품의 경향과 특징적 요소를 분석하고, 레온 박스트 무대의상 디자인 작품에 표현된 형태적, 색채적 특성을 응용한 모티브를 네일아트 디자인으로 활용하여 네일 디자인으로 제안하며, 작품의 특성을 분석한 후 재해석한 10가지의 응용 모티브 작품과 10가지의 살롱용 네일아트 디자인 작품으로 분류하여 총 20점의 작품을 제작한다. 레온 박스트만의 풍부한 색감과 표현기법을 분석하고 이를 토대로 네일아트 디자인에 접목시켜 독창적이고 차별화된 레온 박스트만의 작품 특성을 살린 형태를 네일아트 디자인으로 표현하여 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구의 작품제작을 통하여 레온 박스트의 무대 의상 디자인 작품의 다양한 질감과 패턴의 역동적인 선과 형태, 화려한 색채는 네일아트 디자인에 응용하기 적합함을 알 수 있다. 레온 박스트는 무대 미술가와 무대의상 디자이너로서 무용 예술에 있어서 많은 영향을 끼쳤고 그가 디자인한 무용 의상의 형태적이나 색채적인 디자인으로 미적 가치 또한 큰 주목을 받았으며, 다양하고 기하학적인 패턴의 창의성과 색채의 마술사라는 별명에 걸맞게 화려한 색채를 자신만의 방법을 통하여 예술적으로 표현하였다. 제시된 작품들은 레온 박스트의 작품 속에 나타나 있는 조형적 특성을 파악하고 어떠한 색채와 형태로 응용 모티브 작품의 디자인에 표현되었는지를 살피며 새롭고 독창적인 형태의 네일아트 디자인을 연구하여 작품을 제안하였으며, 그 결과로 레온 박스트가 디자인한 발레뤼스 무대의상의 기하학적이고 독특한 형태를 화려하고 원색적인 색채와 다양한 기법들을 통해 응용 모티브 패턴으로 나타내었고 레온 박스트 무대의상 디자인의 다양한 오브제들을 라인스톤, 진주 등 네일 재료를 사용하여 네일아트 디자인만이 표현할 수 있는 다양하면서도 독특한 형태와 질감을 연출하는 것을 가능하게 하였다. 본 연구에는 레온 박스트의 무대의상 디자인 작품을 통하여 조형적인 특성과 색채적 특성을 연구하여 제안한 네일아트 디자인이 조형적인 예술의 한 부분으로 가치를 높이고 네일살롱의 실무에 적용되어 네일아트 부문에서도 실용적인 디자인으로 활용되기를 바라며, 앞으로 다양한 무대의상 디자인 작품과 네일아트 디자인의 예술적 가치 또한 다양하고 활발하게 발전되고 성장하길 기대한다. 지나간 시대의 의상 디자인 작품의 요인들을 분석하여 재해석하고 네일아트 디자인으로 접목하는 연구가 지속적이면서도 폭넓은 범위에서 이루어지기를 바라는 의도와 목적으로 연구를 시도하고자 한다.|This study about Léon Bakst’s life and his philosophy in arts allowed me to learn different types of insight of design and traits in arts. Also, I was able to have a chance to interpret my own design based on Léon Bakst’s design. The uniqueness of Léon Bakst’s pattern, shape, and color in stage design inspired and motivated me to apply the uniqueness into my nail design. Léon Bakst gave a lot of influence on performing arts as stage costumes and stage arts designer. Unique shapes and colors in stage costumes he designed had a great attention from among the artists and people. He used diverse and geometric patterns in the costumes and stage arts in his own creative ways. I decided to analyze and look into the unique texture, pattern, shape, color, tones in his design. I apply Léon Bakst’s unique design into my nail design and will introduce it. The nail designed Léon Bakst’s unique design applied can be differentiated from other nail designs in general. I created and designed 10 nail tips and 10 imitation works based on Léon Bakst’s design. 10 nail tips and 10 imitation works show Léon Bakst’s unique design that he use in Ballets Russes costumes, which are using more vivid colors and diverse materials such as pearls, crystals. I expect that this study can provide creative ideas to nail design and improve the artistic value of nail design as one type of arts. Not only use the design I created for artistic purposes, but also it can be applied and used in nail salon in practical way as well. I also expect that more people try to apply diverse and unique designs motivated by costume design into nail design. This will be able to develop and improve the field of nail arts. It is important that more people in the field of nail art keep studying about stage costumes and arts and apply them into nail arts in their own ways.
