국가기록원 기록정보콘텐츠의 사용성 평가에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구에서는 국가기록원에서 제공하는 기록정보콘텐츠 중 컬렉션 유형의 특성을 반영한 사용성 평가영역과 항목을 도출하고, 실제 이용자를 대상으로 ‘독립운동관련 판결문’ 컬렉션의 사용성 평가를 진행하였다. 이를 통해 사용성 평가영역 및 항목이 전체 만족도에 미치는 영향 관계와 중요도를 파악하여 컬렉션 유형 기록정보콘텐츠의 사용성 향상을 위해 우선시 되어야 할 개선 방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 국가기록원 기록정보콘텐츠 중 컬렉션 유형을 분석하여 평가영역을 설정하고, 선행연구와 WebQual을 비교분석하여 사용성 평가항목을 도출하였다. 사용성 평가 대상자를 역사 전공자로 한정하여 설문지를 배포하였으며, 기술통계 분석, 상관관계 분석, 회귀분석, 다중응답 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, ‘독립운동관련 판결문’ 컬렉션의 사용성은 전반적으로 긍정적인 평가를 받았으며, ‘검색, 콘텐츠, 인터페이스’ 순으로 사용성이 높게 나타났다. 하지만 전반적인 만족도 보다는 낮은 것으로 나타나 개선의 여지가 있는 것을 확인하였다. 둘째, 콘텐츠, 검색, 인터페이스 모든 영역이 전체 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 이 중 인터페이스 영역이 가장 큰 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 중요도는 ‘검색, 콘텐츠, 인터페이스’ 순으로 나타났으며, 인터페이스 영역의 중요도가 비교적 더 낮게 나타났다. 셋째, 콘텐츠 영역에서는 ‘정보의 신뢰성’과 ‘양적 풍부함’이 전체 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 이용자도 중요하게 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 검색 영역에서 전체 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 항목은 ‘원문 이용의 용이성’과 ‘검색 결과 화면 활용성’이었으며, 이용자가 중요하게 여기는 항목은 ‘검색 결과의 정확성’과 ‘검색의 용이함’으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 인터페이스 영역에서 전체 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 항목은 ‘기록정보콘텐츠의 사용이 나에게 좋은 경험이 됨’과 ‘사용하는 방법을 배우기 쉬움’이었으며, 이용자가 중요하게 여기는 항목은 ‘사용하기 쉬움, 메뉴 간의 이동이 쉬움, 원하는 기능이 제공됨, 사용하는 방법을 배우기 쉬움’으로 나타났다. 위의 분석 결과에 따라 국가기록원 기록정보콘텐츠 컬렉션 유형의 사용성 개선 방향을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 사용성 개선을 위해서 콘텐츠, 검색, 인터페이스 영역을 함께 개선해야 하지만, 가시적인 만족도 상승을 위해서는 인터페이스 영역에 집중할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 콘텐츠 영역에서는 데이터베이스의 보완과 신뢰할 수 있는 내용정보의 추가를 통한 양적 증가가 필요하다. 셋째, 검색 영역에서는 검색 기능의 개선과 검색 결과 화면에서의 충분한 정보 제공, 원문 연동의 용이성 향상이 필요하다. 넷째, 인터페이스 영역에서는 이용 안내 등의 컬렉션 사용법에 대한 충분한 정보를 제공하고, 이용자가 보다 쉽게 컬렉션을 활용할 수 있도록 지원할 필요가 있다.| The purpose of this study is to determine areas and elements of usability evaluation that reflect the characteristics of the archival contents collections in the National Archives of Korea, and to evaluate the usability of the "Decisions Relating to the Independence Movement" Collection for actual users. Through the findings I can grasp the relation and importance level that usability evaluation areas and elements have on overall satisfaction, with the aim of proposing a prioritized direction for improving the compatibility of the archival content collection. To this end, I analyzed the National Archives's archival content collection types and set up evaluation areas, deriving elements for usability evaluation by comparing and analyzing previous studies and WebQual. The questionnaire of usability evaluation was distributed to history majors only, conducting descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and multiple response analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the usability of “Decisions Relating to the Independence Movement” Collection was evaluated positively overall, with usability being ranked in the order of "Search, Contents, Interface." However, It was lower than the overall satisfaction, confirming that there is room for improvement. Second, the areas of content, search, and interface all had positive effects on overall satisfaction, with the interface domain holding the greatest influence. On the other hand, Users selected the order of importance as "Search" first, "Contents" second, and "Interface" third, showing that interface was considered relatively less important. Third, "Reliability of information" and "Richness of quantity" had a positive effect on the overall satisfaction in the content area, with users agreeing that said elements are important. Fourth, elements that positively affected the overall satisfaction in the search area were "Ease of accessing the original text" and "Usability of the search result window." The elements that users regarded as important were "Accuracy of search results" and "Ease of search." Fifth, elements that had a positive effect on overall satisfaction in the interface area were that "Using archival contents was a good experience" and that "Learning to use the interface was easy." Users thought it was important that the interface was "Easy to use, Easy to navigate between menus, provides desired functions, and is easy to learn to use." Based on the above analysis, I can improve the usability of the archival contents collection of the National Archives of Korea by in the following direction. First, all areas of content, search, and interface need to be improved for better usability. For a tangible increase in satisfaction, however, we need to focus on the interface. Second, the contents need a quantitative increase by supplementing the database and by adding reliable content information. Third, the search function needs improvement and should provide sufficient information on the search results window, with more accessible links to original texts. Fourth, the interface needs to provide sufficient information on how to access the collections and help the user utilize the collection more easily.
