검보의 미적특성을 응용한 아트메이크업 작품제작 연구

Abstract

문화 전반에 걸쳐 급속한 성장으로 관심을 집중시키고 있는 동양의 대극(大劇) 중국(中國)은 동양 문화의 대표적 산실로써 동·서양의 구분 없이 그 가치가 오랫동안 인정되어 왔다. 이러한 중국의 문화에 있어 경극(京剧)은 3대 국수(國粹)로 불리며 중국 특유의 문화예술로 보여지고 있는 중국인이 가장 좋아하는 전통문화예술로 큰 가치를 의미하고 있다. 따라서 중국 희곡에 나타나는 검보(臉譜)는 감상가치가 있을 뿐만 아니라 희극 예술가들과 관중들 사이의 대화 매개체인 문화언어라 할 수 있다. 경극의 검보는 역대 발전과 보완을 거쳐 시각적으로 국내외에 관심을 받고 있는 추세이며 이미 경극예술의 시각적 대표 부호(符號)가 된다. 중국의 민족문화 풍습과 생활풍습은 검보라는 특유의 언어에 깊은 의의와 다양한 표현기능을 부여하고 있으며, 검보는 충실(忠实)과 간사(奸诈), 선(善)과 악(恶) 등의 내면과 외면의 인격적 통일을 추구하고 도덕관, 선악관, 가치관을 전달하는 것으로 검보의 미학(美學)적인 가치를 이해할 수 있다. 현재 한국(韓國)에서도 중국 전통극(傳統劇)인 경극과 분장(扮裝)에 관한 연구가 이루어지며 관심이 높아지고 있는 추세이지만 메이크업 분야에서는 검보의 심층적인 연구와 검보의 미적특성(美的形象) 즉, 형상(形象)과 색채, 장식이 응용된 작품 제시가 제한적이며 선행연구 또한 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국의 관련 연구 자료와 중국의 문헌인 가관화(架冠华)(2005),『각색부호—중국희곡검보(角色符号—中国戏曲脸谱)』을 중심으로 경극의 역사 및 발달 과정과 검보(臉譜)의 형상에 나타난 특징을 이론적으로 고찰한 후 검보를 응용한 아트메이크업 사례를 분석하였다. 또한 이를 토대로 검보의 미적특성을 응용하여 현대적으로 재해석한 아트메이크업 작품 5점을 제시하였다. 이는 메이크업 분야의 디자인 모색에 의한 영역 확대에 의의가 있으며 현대적 아트메이크업으로 발전시키는데 목적을 두고자 함이다. 연구결과로는 검보의 미적특성인 형상과 색채, 장식을 모티브로 상징의미를 재해석함으로써 독창적이고 현대적인 아트메이크업 작품이 완성하였다. 아트메이크업을 제작함에 있어 무한한 아이디어의 매개체로 창의적인 작품 연출을 가능하게 하여 아름다움과 환타스틱한 미적가치를 주었다. 또한 검보 형상의 정형화된 이미지를 탈피한 중국의 전통적 특성을 통한 메이크업 디자인 모색은 한·중이 공유할 수 있는 시각언어의 영역임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이처럼 중국문화의 전통을 이해하고 응용하여 독창적인 아트메이크업 디자인을 도출함에 있어 영역 확대의 가능성이 열려있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해서 중국 전통적 특성을 응용하는 한·중의 메이크업 디자인 제작에 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대하며, 검보의 심층적 연구가 보다 진취적으로 수행되기를 바란다. |For an oriental epic play to become the center of public interest through a rapid growth covered the whole field of culture, its value in the China won public recognition without division between the east and the west. The play of Kyung-keuk is called a play among three in such the Chinese culture and it is of great significance as an art of a cultural heritage which the Chinese are best fond of. Accordingly, it is said that Gumbo which appears in the Chinese play is a cultural language of a dialogic mediator between a play-artists and audiences as well as the worth of impressions of it. Gumbo in the play of Kyung-keuk becomes the center of interest from a concerned people both at home and abroad as visual arts through supplementation and development of generation after generation, and also it has already become a main visual sign in an art of the play of Kyung-keuk. National culture customs and life customs of the Chinese are all gifted with the multiple functions of expression and a deep meaning in a peculiar language of Gumbo, we could understand an esthetic value of Gumbo by conveying their sense of values, morals, virtue and vice in quest of an unification of character in interior and exterior of faithfulness, deceitfulness, goodness and badness. At present, Kyung-keuk as the Chinese traditional play and its a make-up become the center of interest and a study from a concerned people in Korea, but a field of the make-up is of limitation to present a work to apply an in-depth study and an esthetic feature of Gumbo, namely, form, colour, and ornament, also a leading study is unprepared. Accordingly, this study analyzed the cases of an art make-up applied Gumbo after a theoretical consideration to appear on form of Gumbo, history of Kyung-keuk and its process of development centering around of Gagwanhwa(架冠华)(2005), 『Each sign - Gumbo, the Chinese play(角色符号—中国戏曲脸谱)』of the Chinese literature and research materials of Korea. On the basis of it, 5 pieces of an art make-up work which re-illustrated contemporarily is presented to apply an esthetic feature of Gumbo. A purpose of this study is to develop a modern art make-up and it is significant for enlargement of fields through searching for a design of a make-up fields. As the result of the study this researcher completed the make-up works modern and creative by re-illustrating a meaning of sign to be a motive form, colour, and ornament of an esthetic feature of Gumbo. This gave us values beautiful, fantastic and esthetic to enable a presentation of creative works through an infinitive idea for production of an art make-up. Also, this study found out that searching of make-up design through the Chinese traditional character to break with a standardized image of form of Gumbo is fields of a visual language capable of sharing them between Korea and China. Also, this study like this found out that an original idea for a creative art make-up design made a possibility of enlargement of fields to be open by understanding and applying a tradition of the Chinese culture. This researcher hopes that this study is applied as basic materials for a production of a make-up design in Korea and China to apply a Chinese traditional character and that an in-depth study of Gumbo is performed adventurously
