Abstract

Nowadays there is the higher concern on the image making in the social trends of transmitting one's image and the higher needs of one's personality expression caused by the development of multi-media. The wiggery plays bigger role in expressing one's personality in modern society than in any other age and country because the needs of the beauty is the stronger. But the wiggery being used at present time are lacking in the diversity and the design to meet the needs of modern people who attach the importance to the places and the personality. There is no variety in general straight hair and thick wave, and in the length of short, bobbed hair, and long. The people who try to express oneself by changing one's hair style, that is one of the needs for the outer beauty, are increasing more and more, caused by the betterment of the standard of living. But one's own hair has a limitation to achieve the various design changes, and so if they use the wiggery, their satisfaction would be bigger. To study the way how to express the wig design with hair illustration instead of handle simply theoretically, this researcher who is one of the hair designers hope this research would contribute in the technical parts of the hair illustration fields and in the diversification of wig market through the study of wig design using the hair peace. I expect that the usability of the wig design will be expended more and more in modern hair market through exact analysis of these wig design. This research is to examine the wig history of the western countries and Korea, prior to the hair design study. I will classify the type of wig design, and will study the design of each type and revive it. The contents are as followings. First, to understand the theoretical background of the wig design, I will search the historical consideration. Second, I classified the wig design type as follows 1) the fitting feeling of the wig and design type 2) the sexual expression of the wig and design type 3) the expression of the social position and design typy 4) the expression of the fashion and design type Third, we can know wig's current trend through applied cases of wig design used in modern society. Forth, I dsigned the wigs as per the classified type with airdressing expression techniques of hair illustration, and proposed the modern design . Fifth, I apply and remake the technical process to produce in the manner of the hair design illustration. We have the functional aims to explain and express the most detailed contents with the detailed explanation or the order, which is one of the objects of the illustration. Focused on these objects, we are to reestablish the wig design according to the type classification through the hair illustration technique and hairdressing theory, not trough the general illustration. The major fields in hairdressing are more segmented and specialized by creating the beauty, and expressing the beauty to the design, and applying various fields with the beauty. The hair illustration, that is the most primitive field among various hairdressing fields that are now developing, is an essential and segmented study field to improve the aesthetic sense of the artist and also to learn the pattern and the sense of the beauty arts. To create the hair design in hairdressing parts is evaluated as a plastic art. For example, in case of architecture, a building may be either a simple output of the drawings or an illustrated art added the architect's artistic sense. It is same in the hair design field. Before starting the creating activity, the tremendous idea in the brain of the artist should be expressed in the form of illustration to transfer the idea to the related person with easy. Considering the fact that the pictorial works requires the more artistic characteristics, the hair illustration area will be extended. It would be possible to play a role as the hair illustrator that has the functional goal, if the hair illustrator can apply the technique of expressing the hair texture in this research. The expression of hair waives or the curl should be characterized by expressing form of alphabet C, S, J to express the texture. The result of this research is as follows The wig was used from the beginning of the human history until now. At the early stage of human history, the wig had the more function of protecting the human body. Through the historical overview, I found the fact that the design of clothing, accessories, and wig has changed with various forms as the social, political, cultural environment has changed. This researcher, based on the wig's literary theory, 1. looked for the wig's transition process on the basis of its epochal history. 2. classified the wig's characteristics by its type through the literary studies to make the people know easily. 3. made the people know the kinds of the modern wig design by classifying the wigs. 4. expressed the wig design as a hair illustration by studying the wig design in order that it can keep up with the modern society that is rapidly changing, with reference to the wig design of wig's type classification used in modern society and the characteristics earned by wig's type classification through theoretical basis. 5. remade the works, in the scope of the three hairdressing categories such as fashion cut, up style, and blow dry. 1)Work number 1"of up style is the unique and creative style that is match with the party, ceremonial event. It is a modernized expression of the Pongtaneu style, Pupoo style. 2) "Work number 2" is the up style that I took the motive from Back wig of which origin was a cloth hair bag with the butterfly shape. I applied it to modern wig design using the rolling technique for shape of butterfly and the bag. 3) For the blow dry, I proposed the design that I took the motive from the 1800s waive. It is the ready styling type so it can be used anytime with easy. 4)The fashion cut design is for the younger generation who has the modernized individuality. Square wig's straight or disconnected curl was the motive. In this work, I emphasized the diagonal design, disconnected design, and the deviation of straight and curl. I tried to find out the motive from the classified type appeared in the whole wig history, and to propose wig design to apply it to the modern design. I grasped the whole trend by classifying the wig design which was influenced through the western history when the hair designing was most prevalent. Through the classification, I, as a specialist of the hair design, tried to increase the degree of completion of illustration of wig design to hair illustration. I expect this research can contribute to enrich the variousness of the design by expressing the new design in hair illustration to apply modern design, and I expect to contribute to the expanding of the local wig market through suggesting the various and unlimited possibility to express the one's personality uniquely with the wig as a hair design expressing material, by adapting and reviving the characteristics of the wig found through the classification process to modernized design.
