IT 기업의 기술혁신이 기업성과에 미치는 영향

Abstract

4차 산업혁명의 가속화로 인해 IT 기업들은 지속 가능한 경쟁력 확보와 장기적 성과를 위해 지속적인 기술혁신을 요구받고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 IT 기업의 기술혁신이 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이 과정에서 컨설팅 지원이 가지는 매개효과를 중심으로 연구를 진행하였다. 특히, 기술혁신의 주요 구성요소인 개방형 혁신, 기술 개발 역량, 그리고 기술 전략이 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과에 미치는 영향을 중점적으로 살펴보았고, 또한 컨설팅 지원이 기술혁신 그리고 기업성과에 구체적으로 어떤 영향 관계가 있는지 검토하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 기술혁신을 적극적으로 추진하는 국내 IT 기업을 대상으로 직접 설문조사를 수행하였고, 연구모형 가설을 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석 방식을 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과, 기술혁신은 기업성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 기술혁신이 기업성과에 미치는 영향 관계에서 컨설팅 지원이 매개효과를 갖는지 파악하였으며, 분석한 결과, 모든 가설이 채택되었다. 첫째, 기술혁신의 기술 전략, 기술 개발 역량, 개방형 혁신 등 모두, 컨설팅 지원에 미치는 영향은 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 컨설팅 지원은 IT 기업의 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과 모두에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 컨설팅 지원이 비재무적 성과에 더 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 입증되었다. 마지막으로, 기술혁신이 기업의 성과에 직접적인 영향뿐만 아니라, 컨설팅 지원을 통해 간접적으로도 영향을 미쳐 중요한 매개변수로 작용했다. 본 연구는 기술혁신과 컨설팅 지원 간의 유의한 영향 관계를 규명함으로써 이론적 기여를 제공할 것으로 기대된다. 또한, IT 기업에 종사하는 실무자들에게 컨설팅 지원 활성화를 통해 기술혁신 및 기술 개발 효과를 극대화할 기회를 제공한다. 향후 연구는 산업별 특성과 장기적 관점을 고려한 연구를 통해 기업성과에 미치는 다양한 연구의 차원을 한 단계 더 높일 있을 것이다.| With the acceleration of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, IT firms are required to continuously innovate their technologies to secure sustainable competitiveness and long-term performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of technological innovation on corporate performance of IT firms, focusing on the mediating effect of consulting support in this process. In particular, we focused on the impact of open innovation, technology development capability, and technology strategy, which are the main components of technological innovation, on financial and non-financial performance, and examined how consulting support specifically affects the relationship between technological innovation and firm performance. To achieve the objectives of this study, a direct survey was conducted among Korean IT firms that are actively promoting technological innovation, and hierarchical regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses of the research model. The results of this study showed that technological innovation has a significant impact on corporate performance, and the mediating effect of consulting support on the relationship between the impact of technological innovation on firm performance. First, the effect of consulting support on technology strategy,technology development capability, and open innovation of technological innovation is significant. Second, consulting support is found to have a significant impact on both financial and non-financial performance of IT firms, with consulting support proving to have a more significant impact on non-financial performance. Finally, technological innovation was found to be a significant mediator, not only through its direct impact on firm performance, but also indirectly through consulting support. This study is expected to provide theoretical contributions by identifying a significant relationship between technological innovation and consulting support. It also provides practitioners in IT firms with the opportunity to maximize the effectiveness of technological innovation and technology development by promoting consulting support. Future research should consider industry-specific characteristics and long-term perspectives to add to the body of research on the impact of consulting support on firm performance.
