한복의 造形的 特性을 응용한 현대의상 개발연구

Abstract

우리의 전통을 재해석하고 조합하고자 하는 움직임이 사회 각 분야에서 활발하다. 패션에서도 한국의 전통미를 찾고자 하는 노력이 디자이너들에 의해 시도되고 있고, 이들의 노력으로 많은 패션상품들이 출시되고 있다. 21C에 새롭게 대두되고 있는 트랜드인 오리엔탈리즘을 표현한 패션상품이 출현(出現) 하고 있지만, 세계시장에서 한국상품은 일본이나 중국의 종속상품으로 인식되고 있다. 한복이 기모노라 불리고 차이니즘으로 대별되는 옷으로 인식되고 있는 세계 패션 시장에서 한복이 오리엔탈리즘에 적합하다는 것을 알리기 위해서는 전통의 미를 기본으로 하며 한복의 조형성에 충실한 디자인 개발이 시급하다. 따라서, 본 연구는 과거의 전통한복에 대한 재인식을 통하여 우리의 위상을 확인하고 한복의 미를 현대에 계승하여 보다 현대적인 패션산업의 발전에 기여할 수 있도록 하는데 그 의의가 있으며, 전통미의 현대적이고 창조적인 가능성을 제시하고 세계무대에서 우리문화의 우수성을 알림과 동시에 차별화 될 수 있는 한국적 상품개발에 그 목적을 둔다. 연구의 구체적인 전개방법으로 첫째, 시대 변천에 따른 한복의 종류별 특징을 살펴보았고, 조형가치와 조형적 특성을 규명하고자 하였으며, 연구범위는 삼국시대 및 조선시대를 귀족과 서민층으로 계층에 따른 의복문화를 살펴보았다. 둘째, 전통소재와 문양을 이용해 세계시장에 진출하여 국내·외 주목을 받고 있는 디자이너의 작품세계를 비교하여, 한복이미지를 주제로 한 작품의 의의와 한계를 규명하고자 하였으며, 한복의 대중화와 상품성 시도라는 의의를 가지고 있는 생활 한복 브랜드의 특성과 소비자들의 기호를 제시하여, 향후 한복이미지를 주제로 한 제품의 상품화에 도움이 될 수 있도록 하였다. 셋째, 이상과 같은 연구를 바탕으로 마케팅 환경분석을 통하여 시장 세분화 기준에 의한 표적 시장을 설정하였으며, 각 계층의 소비자의식조사를 실시하여 한복을 기본으로 하는 현대의상개발의 가능성을 제시해 보고자 하였다. 넷째, 이상과 같은 결론에 의거한 한복이미지를 주제로 하여 작품 3점을 디자인하여 실제 제작하였다. 이런 연구과정을 거처 다음과 같은 결론에 이르렀다. 첫째, 한복의 미적가치는 자연미, 인격미, 벽사미, 전통미 등에 있으며 둘째, 인체를 압박하는 특색을 가지는 서양복식과는 달리 셋째, 한복이 가지는 고유의 선과 간결함은 남·녀·노소는 물론, 장소와 시간을 초월하는 특징을 가지고 있으며, 거리낌없는 한복의 형식은 선(禪)사상을 바탕으로 하는 한국의 미적가치를 충분히 표현하고 있다. 넷째, 조선시대 귀족계층을 중심으로 파급된 유교문화는 복식에 있어서도 고대 중국의 복식을 모방하는 점도 가지고 있으나, 다섯째, 고려시대의 상감기법에서 보여주고 있는 품위와 은은한 멋은 조선시대에 형성되는 자연미, 곡선미와 어울려 한복디자인의 모티브를 이루고 있다. 여섯째, 한복은 4계절이 뚜렷한 자연환경의 영향으로 천연소재를 중심으로 발전하여 왔으며, 선과 전체적인 분위기는 자연미와 명상미를 간직한 오리엔리즘의 진수로 보여지고 있다. 일곱째, 현대에 이르러 한복은 한국적 이미지를 강하게 간직하고 있는 한국적 조형물로 현대사회에서 일상복이 된 양복과 함께 복식의 이중구조를 이루며 한국인의 복식문화의 중추를 이루고 있다. 이를 통하여 한복은 주변 국가의 복식들과 구별되는 독창적인 양식으로 한민족의 정서와 자긍심을 상징하며 발전되어 왔음을 알 수 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 전통한복의 올바른 개발방향을 위하여 다음과 같이 요약하였다.|In every fields of society, it is a widespread phenomenon to reread traditional cultures and to combine them with new cultures. In fashion area, many fashion designers have made such an effort to seek for the Korean traditional clothing among many emerging fashion brands. Though the Orientalism, the new trend of 21st century in fashion, is popular in the world, Korean fashion is still considered subjective to Japanese and Chinese fashion. Hanbok, which is the korean traditional clothing, is regarded as Gimono of Japan and Chinese fashion in world markets, so it is necessary for us to advertise Hanbok as korean Orientalism. Accordingly, it is urgent to develop the design of korean clothing based on traditional beauty. This study is focused on evaluating the current stage of fashion through reconsidering the traditional clothing of the past and will contribute to modern fashion industry by connecting the current fashion with traditional clothing. This attempt shows a possibility to make modern and creative fashion from old fashions. It not only informs the world of our creative cultural superiority but also produces the korean distinctive clothing. This study follows concrete four developing methods. First, investigating the characteristics of Hanbok with the changing of times will redefine the value and the traits of application. The scope of study includes the period of Three Kingdoms and Chosun Dynasty. The clothing cultures will be differently classified into aristocracy and the humbler. Second, by being compared by the notable designer home and abroad who entered the world market with traditional materials and shapes, the Hanbok-imaged work will be revaluated. This study will help daily Hanbok-imaged clothing to be commercialized and productive by showing the preference of consumers. Third, the target market is chosen by marketing environmental analysis like the previous researches. This study will show a possibility to develop a modern fashion set by Hanbok standard. The consumer researches are used to study the above subjects. Fourth, from the above thesis, I actually designed three pieces of clothing with the theme of Hanbok image. These researches have the following conclusions. First, Hanbok has such beautiful values as natural beauty, personal beauty, magic beauty to expel the harm curses and traditionalism. Second, Hanbok is different from Western clothing which is oppressing the body and has casuality. Third, the unique line and simplicity of Hanbok can appeal the people beyond ages and sexes. The casual shape of Hanbok fully expressed the value of korean beauty, which has Zen in Buddhism as a background thought. Fourth, the aristocracy of Chosun Dynasty dominated by Confucianism followed the ancient Chinese fashion. Fifth, the gracious and booming technique of inlaying pottery of Korea Dynasty became a motif of Hanbok design with natural beauty and the beauty of curved lines of Chosun Dynasty. Sixth, Hanbok used natural materials with the changing seasons of Korea. The line and mood represent the most excellent Orientalism with the natural beauty and the meditative beauty. Seventh, Hanbok has a strong korean image and became a korean peculiar culture. With daily Western clothing, Hanbok came to play a pivotal role in korean clothing cultures. These studies show that Hanbok has a unique trait different from neighbor countries and symbolizes the pride and mood of koreans. Accordingly, this study will summarize the right developing method of traditional Hanbok as followings. First, the modern Hanbok will have to get such basic values as natural beauty, magic beauty to expel the harm curses and personal beauty, which is the inborn characteristics of korean clothing. Second, when the modern Hanbok is designed, it will have to follow the modern fashion and be developed as daily clothing which is necessary in daily lives. Third, the development of design, material, and color will follow with the value and the beauty of current lives. Fourth, Hanbok must be designed with total fashion concept to match with other materials. Fifth, in the world of fashion, Orientalism is apt to be regarded as Chinese and Japanese symbol. To overcome this misunderstanding and misleading phenomenon, we should develop the multi-national commercial at first. This research was carried out on the purpose of connecting modern fashion with traditional fashion and differentiating traditional Hanbok from daily western fashion. I hope it will contribute to our future fashion and much more studies will continue with various and concrete methods.
