특수분장 디자인 기법의 적용재료에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 분장재료가 특수분장의 디자인 기법에 어떻게 적용되었으며, 그 방법론 및 상관관계를 분석하여 특수분장의 다양한 디자인 기법과 적용재료를 연결시킨 분장 디자인을 연구하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 본 논문에서는 분장의 영역 중에서 아름다움을 추구하는 일반분장을 제외한 특수분장으로 한정하여 다양한 적용재료에 의해 디자인 기법이 표현되는 특수 분장의 방법론과 적용재료의 특성을 중점적으로 다루었다. 연구의 범위는 가장 널리 사용되어지는 적용재료를 중심으로 그 특성에 따라 변형재료와 보강재료로 분류하여 디자인화하는 것으로 범위를 국한하였다. 연구를 수행하기 위하여 먼저 특수분장 디자인의 필요성과 사실 표현에 근접하기 위해 인간의 얼굴과 신체에 관련된 자료를 중심으로 방법론과 사진자료를 제시하는 방법을 택하였다. 특수분장에 있어서의 디자인 기법의 적용재료에 관한 연구 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 적용재료에 의해 특수분장의 디자인 기법은 다양한 성격적 분류의 변화를 알 수 있다. 둘째, 적용재료에 있어서 대체재료와 부가재료는 특수분장의 디자인 기법을 더 사실적이고 생동감 있게 표현하고 상호(相好) 조화의 효과를 살려 폭넓은 디자인을 묘사하게 한다. 셋째, 특수분장 디자인 기법은 적용재료에 의한 변화와 응용되는 또 다른 재료는 서로 밀접한 관계를 갖으며 이는 배우의 모습을 배역에 맞게 묘사하여 관객들로 하여금 극의 이해에 필요한 인물성격의 재창조를 표현한다. 이와 같이 새로운 특수재료, 특수효과, 고화질의 화면, 디지털 카메라 등 빠르게 변화되는 세계 속에서 특수분장의 디자인 기법과 다양하고 새로운 재료는 특수분장의 멀티화를 추구하는데 중요한 요소로 자리잡게 되었다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 미를 추구하는 일반분장과는 달리 사실에 근접 할 수 있는 표현 묘사에 초점을 두는 특수분장은 다양하고 계속적으로 발전되는 새로운 재료를 떠나서는 존재할 수 없으며 이는 점점 더 중요한 요소로 자 리 잡게 되었다. 이에 본 연구자는 특수분장 디자인 기법을 표현하기 위하여 적용재료가 가지는 특성을 상황과 성격에 맞게 특수분장 디자인 기법에 적용함으로써 창의적인 감각과 무언의 의미를 전달한다고 본다. 특수분장이 극적(dramatic)인 효과를 얻기 위해서는 작품상의 인물의 성격(character)을 정확하게 표현해야 하며, 이를 위해서는 효과적인 재료 선택이 더욱 필요하며 그 중요성은 커질 것이라 본다. 그러나 특수분장 디자인 기법은 체계적인 이론을 바탕으로 재료의 정확한 선택과 기술의 반복 연습에 의해 숙달되는 표현이지만, 반면에 개인의 창의력과 손끝에서의 표현 묘사에 많이 좌우되고 보는 사람 개개인의 시각적인 측면에도 좌우되므로 그 척도가 모호할 수 있다는 것이 연구의 제한점으로 남는다. 그러한 관점에서 보면 폭넓은 실험과 경험으로 표현기법에 대한 지속적인 연구가 요구된다.|Modern society is changing in many sides. Without exception in the world of all kinds of vocation, the fields which has stood aside in the indifference of the society or has given just slight influence to the industry may awaken the interest of people with social change and the change of the viewpoints of the public. Also, the specialty and realistic expression due to the development of technology in that field may concentrate people's attention. One of the fields which furthermore require the specialty owing to these development of technology could be mass media-using industry, that is, culture and art industry which appeals to human's emotion. The purpose of the study is to work on, based on the beauty make-up out of the make-up expression technique in varying situation, the expression technique for actual special make-up, the most used make-up, and to seek after the development of make-up design which requires more specialty. The purpose of this study was to discuss how make-up materials were used for the design techniques of special make-up that is part of impersonation, what kinds of materials were applied to special make-up design and how they were utilized, in a bid to find out more materials available for each of diverse design techniques in pursuit of better make-up design. The most widely used materials were divided into transformational and supplementary types, and the focus of this study was placed on two different design techniques. One put transformational inaterials to use, and the other utilized supplementary materials that also could serve as alternative and effect materials. As a result of delving into how to apply materials to special make-up design, the following findings were given in summary: First, materials should be transformed or supplemented after the nature of special make-up and the features of materials should exactly be understood. Alternative and additional materials could be used to put more life into special make-up, and the two types of materials should be in harmony to enrich design effect. Second, the type of materials in use could be an indicator to represent the nature of special make-up design techniques. Third, one important feature in special make-up is that any changes caused by a specific type of material have close relations to another type of applied materials. Fourth, the special effect of special makeup could be a mirror of the contemporary social and cultural environment, and the importance and mutual harmony of different types of materials should be kept in mind, as the effect of special make-up hinges on them. The union of the past special makeup methodology with the well-organized current theories and practice would make special make-up more realistic. Human being has an instinctive need for standing out from people of the same or opposite gender in society, and people have kept pursuing beauty throughout their lives across the ages and countries of the world. Unlike general make-up that pursues beauty, special make-up focuses on realistic effect, and it cannot make any progress without newer, diverse materials which are increasingly gaining in importance. Although special make-up designing is a skilled technique that requires systematic knowledge of theories, proper materials and repeated practice, there is no absolute standard for it, since it is a product of imagination and depends on delicate hand skills and its effect hinges on individual viewer's visual perspective. This is what this study didn't dealt with. In the future, more comprehensive and broader-scale experiments are called for to tackle this problem. The attempt in this study aimed to facilitate the growth of special make-up as one of new practical disciplines, and a great deal of academic research efforts should be devoted to this field from more diverse angles.
