統一新羅時代 遺物의 이미지를 活用한 現代패션 디자인 硏究

Abstract

그 동안 세계의 문화는 주로 미국과 유럽을 중심으로 한 서구권이 주도를 하였으나 20세기부터 일본, 중국, 인도 등을 중심으로 꾸준히 움직임을 보여 왔으며 21세기 들어 범 아시아적으로 각광받고 있는 ‘한류’의 영향으로 일본, 중국, 인도 등으로 집중됐던 동양에 대한 관심이 한국으로 전환되는 현상을 볼 수 있다. 그러나 전파속도가 가장 빠른 대중매체인 TV드라마나 영화에서 접할 수 있는 시대적 배경이 한정적인 것이어서 넓게는 세계에 좁게는 젊은 층에게 까지 한국 전통복식에 대한 인식이 조선시대의 한복으로 제한적 인 것은 안타까운 사실이다. 이로 인해 2천년 이상의 역사를 가진 한국의 전통복식이 한복이라는 인식이 강하게 자리를 잡았으며, 국내에서도 전통복식에 대한 연구는 조선시대를 제외한 시대들은 미미한 실정이다. 또한 조선시대의 한복에 대한 연구가 집중되고 있음에도 불구하고 전통복식이라는 한계를 뛰어넘지 못하고 한국 패션의 우수성을 알리기보다는 전통적 요소의 응용이나 재현적인 요소가 강해 국제주의 보다는 지역주의에 치우치는 경향이 강한 것을 볼 수 있다 본 논문에서는 통일신라를 시대적 배경으로 해서 통일신라의 사회, 문화, 예술, 복식에 대해 이론적 고찰과 통일신라 유물의 조형적 특성에 대해 연구하여 통일신라 예술의 조형적 특성을 각 보여주는 각 분야의 유물을 설정하여 디자인 모티브로 제시하였다. 이 유물들은 통일신라의 불상, 토기, 불교공예품, 일상생활 공예품, 토용에서 10점을 선정하였다. 따라서 통일신라의 문화를 잘 나타내어 주는 유물을 설정하여 그것을 복식에 적용함으로 인해 한국 전통 이미지에 대한 시대적 국한을 극복하고 좀 더 폭넓은 전통이미지를 제시하며, 아울러 한국 패션이 나아가야할 방향의 전환점을 맞이하고 전개방향을 제시하는 자료로 사용되고자 한다. 디자인 해석 방법으로는 유물 외형의 형태를 그대로 적용한 ‘유물의 형태적 특성을 이용한 디자인’, 유물의 외형의 형태를 응용, 변형한 ‘유물의 형태적 특성을 활용한 디자인’, 유물이 가지고 있는 형태나 의미를 재해석한 ‘유물의 이미지를 재해석한 디자인’ 등 세 그룹으로 나누어 작품을 전개 해나가며, 유물의 이미지를 현대적 감각에 맞게 재해석함으로써 모던하면서도 예술적인 정서를 부여하고자 하였다. 작품의 소재는 현재 트랜드와 유물의 대부분의 소재가 금속소재임을 반영하여 메탈릭 소재를 주소재로 선정한 후 디자인의 이미지를 잘 표현해줄수 있는부소재를 설정하여 이를 믹스 앤 매치 (Mix & Match)를 통하여 서구적인 문화와 동양의 문화가 융화되어 작품을 오브제화 함에 있어서 시각적 상징성을 극대화하였다. 작품은 원피스, 투피스등 총 10벌을 제작하여 제시하였다.
