의료영상저장전송시스템(PACS)도입에 따른 방사선사의 직무만족도 연구
- Abstract
- People's need for health, demand for good quality medical service, level of education, and individual's awareness of the right for medical service have increased with the increase of income and living standards.
Management rationalization within the hospital has gained importance with the opening of medical market along with the rapid change of external environment such as increasing demand for national welfare, need for strengthening hospital competitiveness etc. Good quality medical service and high quality treatment with the introduction of the latest medical technology are provided to patients and hospital information system has been introduced for effective hospital operation as a countermove to meet this rapid change evolving around the hospital.
This is a system which integrates and administers the hospital's administration, clinical pathology, and radiology system and PACS has been introduced in the radiology field.
The ground for the introduction of PACS is to improve the inefficient film system and to provide good service to patients. The inefficiency of the film system has caused delay in time and overlapping work due to manual work. High cost has been generated due to wasting expensive space, labor and film.
Recently PACS has been introduced to medical institutions to solve these problems. The ultimate aim of PACS is to establish a system without film. Thus treatment time can be reduced and other services can be provided to patients by using digital image. PACS has been reported to be better than the film system and also makes a positive effect on job satisfaction.
Staffs actually operating this system are radiology technologists whose duties have become more important as they take an essential position in modern medicine. The radiology technologist is a professional performing important tasks and possessing uniqueness, taking charge of diverse roles from MRI and CT, to the field of nuclear medicine and treatment. The radiology technologist is one of the faculty supporting treatment taking an important role of patient diagnosis and treatment. Thus his/her role is important in efficiently improving the health of the nation.
People engaging in medical work get more stressed than other professions and this influences job satisfaction. People are satisfied and their morale and work enthusiasm increase when basic needs are satisfied.
This study will examine how the introduction of PACS influence job satisfaction of radiology technologists in a rapidly changing medical environment and seek better medical service by rationally mediating the unsatisfied section.
