Abstract

I have assumed different aspects of viewing on narcotic-related episode which has been appeared in Korean movies produced from 1990 to year 2002. The importance of this subject matter used in the movies were relatively low. It was rather limited but was just for describing conflict or collapse of hero in melodrama or it was used as one of the method to describe dope-peddling system in 'crime or investigation matter'. But for the last few years there have been movies came out that the viewers or audiences disclaim negative understanding about narcotic-related episode. This trend could be divided into two aspects as follows. First I would consider that there are lots of movies that focus on showing dopes in an hallucinate state. These kinds of movies much more focus on pleasure that occurs in a moment and attractiveness that narcotic -related episodes might give to the one who were used rather than just fun. Thus this brings out to the opening of different possible understanding on movies using diverse artistic or aesthetic technique specially in describing action of hallucination or it's working. The movies show that the reason why the addict could help escaping from being addicted is not because of conflict or desperation from the addict themselves but because of the culture or society surrounded by them or they live in. Second, It is about the movies that deal with making a fortune at a stroke by doping rather than describing one' s suffering in a desperate addicted life by doping illegal distribution. Observing changes in last few years, henceforth the way of describing narcotic-related episodes in Korean movies would be various. Therefore it might be the right time for us to keep searching for bringing out well-harmonized pleasure to the movies. We are living in the society that we cannot deny the situation that over abused doping is being influenced rapidly specially in early age of adults. We can ignore that a lot of young generation who are lack of rational decision yet is the most parts in the market for movies. At this time there must be much paying attention to how successfully the media will provide freedom of one' s view or freedom of expression in arts that might convert to attractiveness and there must be further debate followed on it' s limit to be defined.
