- Abstract
- This study aims at preparing the basic data of collocation education and groping for effective education scheme of collocation by making out collocation list for learners and examining the collocation relation of these. For this, I study appearance distribution by teaching material of each collocation and collocation dictionary of Korean language centering around noun to be language core after extracting collocation list from teaching material to be the center of education on the spot of Korean language education. In addition, I examined significant collocation relation centering around chosen noun vocabularies and presented real education scheme through this. This work will be data to be able to grasp distribution feature of noun vocabulary to be used representatively in collocation education out of vocabulary education, and it will be utilized usefully in doing effective collocation education on the spot of classroom.
Collocation is vocabulary that educational necessity to have to be educated and studied intentionally and selectively for smooth mutual understanding of idea is great as phrase that composition element combines customarily. Thus, in this thesis, I chose collocation core of 15 nouns in accordance with appearance frequency after selecting list of collocation core of 426 nouns extracted on the basis of 1,095 collocations with objective method through the analysis of teaching material of Korean language by regarding collocation as combination limited between 2 vocabulary elements to show close public organ relation from the viewpoint of Korean language education as foreign language.
Though collocation education should occupy considerably important part, the phrase was not evaluated well on the spot of Korean language education. In this thesis, I searched for meaning to teach collocation in this situation and studied the method of collocation guidance in it. As the result, I confirmed that collocation education in Korean language education has independent possibility, and presented the expansion list of collocation centering around noun, so that collocation may be utilized usefully on the spot of education.
It is deemed that these courses may make Korean language learners and teachers recognize importance for collocation and may map out a strategy to be able to accept and recognize more positively in meeting with new collocation in the situation except classroom in the future. Schemes of concrete collocation education will be able to offer direction for scheme of creative and systematic collocation education, and it is expected that they will contribute to heightening the function of collocation use of learners when they are applied to real education.
In the chapter 1, I presented feature that collocation has and presented the goal of this thesis and studied existing studies related to it.
In the chapter 2, I discussed theoretical concept and type of collocation. I examine collocation studies made existingly and study research result. As for collocation, there is difference in defining method in accordance with researchers. So, it is necessary to make concept for collocation to try to take in this thesis exact. On the basis of it, I clarified importance of collocation in vocabulary education and progressed discussion for the method of vocabulary education to use collocation.
In the chapter 3, I explained analysis and result for teaching material of Korean language which was used in this thesis. Teaching material of Korean language is element to be the center of education on the spot of Korean language education and medium to link teacher and learner. Through this, I examined present situation of collocation education of Korean language and extracted collocation list presented in teaching material.
In the chapter 4, I chose noun list to have to study on the basis of collocation extracted from teaching material by each institution by focusing on collocation relation centering around noun and arranged collocation relation centering around noun on the basis of data except teaching material and made this into list and presented it. And, I presented diverse schemes of partially applicable or transformable collocation guidance on the spot by considering that separate time for collocation education is not being alloted in present Korean language curriculum and that collocation list or education scheme to have to guide in the teaching material of Korean language is not being presented.
