한국어 교재 내의 문화 교육 양상과 개선방안 연구

Abstract

언어를 배우는 것은 문화를 배우는 것이다. 언어와 문화는 서로의 한 부분으로, 이 둘은 불가분의 관계이다. 그렇기 때문에 목표언어를 제대로 이해하고 사용하려면 언어적인 지식뿐 아니라 문화적 배경도 알아야 한다. 문화 교육의 목표는 의사소통 능력을 향상시키는 것이다. 의사소통 능력 중 사회문화적 능력은 문화적 사실만을 안다고 향상되지는 않는다. 문화 현상과 관련된 지식, 여러 맥락에서 파생되는 언어 사용에 필요한 문화 지식과 그와 관련된 상황 및 맥락에 맞는 언어표현을 함께 배워야 한다. 그러나 대부분의 문화 교육이 일회성 체험 활동 또는 표면적인 문화를 교수-학습하는데 그치고 있다. 교재에 제시되는 ‘문화’내용도 사전적인 의미나 문화 지식과 관련된 설명 텍스트에 국한된다는 문제점이 있다. 다양한 소통 상황에 어울리는 언어를 이해하고 사용하기 위해서는 문화와 언어의 통합 교육이 이루어져야 한다는 것은 당연한 이치이다. 그러나 그 실제적인 방안에 대한 구체적인 논의가 미흡하다고 판단되어, 본고에서는 한국어 교재에 나타난 문화 교육의 양상 분석을 바탕으로 문화와 언어의 통합 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 통합 교육 방안을 위해 가정적 구성 틀을 제시하였다. 이 틀은 문화적 맥락에서 파생된 언어표현을 적극적으로 문화교육의 내용으로 설정하는데 초점이 놓인다. 이 틀을 이용해 제시한 교재 구성안은 학습자의 목적과 상황에 맞게 선택이 가능하다는 점에서 기존의 교재들과 차별성을 가진다. 보다 효과적이고 통합적 문화 교육을 위해서는 가정적 구성 틀의 정교한 체계화 및 교재 구성 사례의 지속적 계발이 필요할 것이다.| To learn a language means to learn a culture. Language is a part of a culture and at the same time a culture is a part of a language. They have a mutually close relationship. So cultural background in addition to language knowledge and is necessary so that you may correctly understand the target language and use it. Recently in Korean language education, the importance of cultural education is being recognized and various studies have been conducted. The purpose of cultural education is to improve the ability of communication. Among ability of communication, social-cultural ability can't be achieved only by understand of cultural knowledge. Therefore cultural knowledge necessary to use language and related language expression matching its situation and interconnection should be learnt too. However most of cultural education tend to be a one time experience activity or just understanding of superficial culture. The contents of 'culture' suggested in teaching material have some problems because they are shown in the shape of just the meaning from dictionary or explanation text relating cultural knowledge. In order to understand language correctly to various situation and context, education which combines culture and language should be practiced. However this study tries to suggest the method of combining culture and language by analyzing cultural education of Korean language teaching material because the detail discussion of practical method has not been enough. The frame of conditional configuration is suggested for combined education. The teaching material configuration plan suggested by use of this frame has its distinctiveness from existing teaching material in the point that it can be selected to the purpose and situation of learner. For more efficient and useful cultural education, the systemization of conditional frame and development of various teaching material configuration is necessary. | 言語を学ぶことは文化を学ぶことである。言語は文化の一部分であるし、文化も言語の一部分であるからこのふたつは密接な関連を結んでいる不可分の関係だ。そのため目標言語をまともに理解して使おうとすれば言語的な知識だけではなく文化的な背景も分からなければならない。 最近韓国語教育でも文化教育の大切さを認識して様々な研究が進まれている。文化教育の目標はコミュニケーション能力を向上させることである。コミュニケーション能力の中、社会文化的能力は文化的事実のみを分かっては成り立たない。そのため言葉を使うのに必要な文化知識またそれと係わる状況及び脈絡に当たる言語表現を一緒に学ばなければならない。しかし大部分の文化教育は使い捨て体験活動または表面的な文化を学ぶだけである。教材に説明される ‘文化’という言葉の内容も辞書的な意味や文化知識と係わる短い説明テキストのみで説明されるという問題点がある。 様々な状況と脈絡に当たるように言語を理解して使うためには文化と言語の統合教育が成り立たなければならないということは当たり前のことである。しかし実際方案に対する具体的な論議が不十分であると判断され、本稿では韓国語教材に現われた文化教育の様相分析を通じて文化と言語の統合教育方案を提示しようとする。 統合教育方案のために假定的構成のフレームを提示する。このフレームを利用して提示した教材構成案は学習者の目的と状況にあうように選択ができるという部分が今までの教材とは差別性を持つ。 より效果的で有用な文化教育のためには假定的構成のフレームの体系化、そして様々な教材構成事例の開発が必要である。
