Abstract
This study was intended to identify the relationship between principal's transformational leadership and teacher's job satisfaction. For this purpose, its reality was investigated through the questionnaire research method and data from the research were analyzed and then statistically treated. The Pearson's product-moment coefficient was calculated using the t-test as a statistical treatment method. Based upon the study results, the following conclusion was drawn:
First, teachers in the public school more positively perceived principal's transformational leadership than those in the private school, male teachers than female teachers, chairpersons than ordinary teachers, and teachers with more than 10 years than those with less than 10 years. And responding teachers positively perceived principal's transformational leadership in orders of small-, medium- and large-sized schools in terms of the school size.
Second, teachers in the public school more positively perceived teacher's job satisfaction than those in the private school, male teachers than female teachers, chairpersons than ordinary teachers, and teachers with more than 10 years than those with less than 10 years. And responding teachers in the small-sized school showed the highest level of job satisfaction in terms of the school size.
Third, it was found that teachers' level of job satisfaction was high if principal's level of transformational leadership was high, which indicates that there is a close relationship between principal's transformational leadership and teacher's job satisfaction. In consequence, teachers' level of job satisfaction can be greatly improved when they positively understand their principal's leadership and perceive it efficiently on the educational spot.
