學校 相談室運營에 대한 中學生의 意識構造에 관한 硏究
- Abstract
- The purpose of the study is to find out different views of junior high school students on (1) what kind of troubles they have in their individual, family and school life (2) what they think of the role of a counseling department according to their genders and grades( if necessary, religions and brotherly order )
The abstracts of the study are these :
1) In their individual, family and school life, junior high school students worry about study, quarrels among brothers and sisters, teachers, personality, and parents' overprotection and interference, in a hierarchial order of concern.
With the above, we learn study is the most serious problem to the students.
2) Students want to share their agonies with their friends most. The next ranks are occupied by their parents and teachers. Though study is the most serious problem to them, only few students want to resort to teachers for their problems.
So a counseling department should find ways for teachers to help the students with study and course guidance.
3) On the counseling motives, most students answered counselings were done when teachers invited them for a counseling. It seems that the students counsel only when teachers take the initiative, although they are faced with lots of agonies. A counseling department should provide effective programs to draw students' voluntary visits.
4) Most students counseled in a teachers' room while few students counseled in a counseling room. So a counseling department seems to be used as neither a place for an individual counseling nor a place for a counseling by teachers.
There is a need to find ways to make the best of a counseling department.
5) Most students know the existence of a counseling department but it was mostly by chance. The reasons seem to be unsuittable placing or insufficient informing of a counseling department.
6) The ration of students who identify themselves with the counselees is similar to the ration that they think the counselees seem to have much trouble.
This shows the students don't have so negative views toward counselees.
7) The students think a counseling teacher should (1) be kind, positive and sociable (2) ensure secrecy and (3) offer definite answers to their problems.
It seems that the school authorities need to concentrate more on the qualification of teachers they would station in a counseling department.
8) Most students don't know what's going on in a counseling department. A counseling department should arrange more specific programs and actively inform students of those programs so that students may have interest in the activity of a counseling department.
9) A lot of students didn't answer to the question about what a counseling department should lay emphasis on.
This fact suggests no interest of the students in a counseling department.
