플래시(Flash) 슈팅게임의 레벨디자인(Level design) 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 대상은 현재 Flash게임에서 보편적으로 드러나는 형평성의 차이, 난이도 조절의 혼란, 등급 분배의 불합리 등이다. 이와 같은 문제에서 발생하는 내재적인 원인을 분석하고 재조절할 필요가 있다. 이에 Flash게임의 실제적 게임 제작을 통해 레벨디자인의 결정적 요소를 구체적으로 분석하여 문제를 해결할 수 있는 실질적인 방법을 찾았다. 이 연구는 사격 종류의 Flash게임인 "돼지 탐정"의 제작 과정과 연구 경험을 바탕으로 한 Flash게임의 기초 기획에서 끝 그리고 예술적인 표현의 구성부터 실제로 설정된 매개 변수 등 다양한 분야까지 게임 설정 과정을 실제적으로 보여주고 있다. 또한 게임 레벨디자인 중에 퀘스트 디자인과 레벨 지도 제작 등 중요한 영역에 대해 심도 있게 다루고 있다. 이론 분석과 실증을 통해 게임 난이도의 발전 추세의 보편적인 법칙을 찾아서 각 레벨난이도를 제어하는 방법을 도출해 냈다. 게임 중에 대상 고객과 상대 사이에 능력등급의 분배 규칙을 분석했다. 또한 게임 퀘스트를 어떻게 이동 배치하면 대상고객의 심리적 욕구를 만족시킬 수 있겠는가를 구체적으로 분석했다.|This study is about the universal level design of the current flash games. It is about the gap in the equality, the unreasonable adjustment of the degree of difficulty and the non-sequential grading in the distribution of different grades. The intrinsic reason why this problem occurs should be analyzed and re-adjusted. Besides, by analyzing the determining factor of the level design through actual production of the flash game, the effective way to solve this problem should be found out. This study shows the practical process of making the game "the pig detective", from the initial planning of the flash game based on the production process and research experiences to the end, and from the artistic expression to the various areas of actually chosen optional parameters. Moreover, this study covers in depth the important areas such as the quest design, of all the level designs, and the production of the level map. Through the theoretical analysis and practical checks, it finds the ways to control the difficulty per level by finding out the universal principles in the development of different grades of game difficulties. It analyzed the gap of capabilities and distribution of such capabilities between the users and the enemy characters. It also analyzed how to move and deploy the game quests to satisfy the psychological needs of the consumers in concrete details.
