Abstract

Many Westerners are concerned with a human residence and the choice of house sites based on feng-shui to purse health, quality of life, happiness and good fortune. For this reason, the value of oriental feng-shui will embossed in the West. The application of feng-shui to architecture, interior decoration and the arrangement of trifle articles in the room will also be spread widely in our country. Owing to the development of modern physics, all the learning fields are recognizing environment with mutually supplementary relation with organism, and they are converting organism and environment into mutually inseparable whole, that is, holistic and systematic thinking. In the change of period paradigm, we should approach the element such as human beng, nature and color ect. integrally by holistic and organic thinking in performing design. But, in the field of design to experience daily color and do creation activity, we have handled color only as separate subjective in accordance with individual, this issue was repeated. As for desirable color, whole should be harmonized and be objective by analyzing and integrating thee point at issue of existing art as well as diverse restriction condition such as economic, social and legal conditions etc. and the divers terms desired of relevant group. Art to exist between human being and nature is not made by mechanical thinking the sum of parts is linked to whole in accordance with the law of cause and effect, but each part should be harmonized with whole though the maintenance of each feature under the organic relation with whole. Nevertheless, the actuality of design has understood the composition system of art as the circulation system of material in the reason-centered and the mechanistic worldview which made nature as the subject of conquest with the belief of invariability and infiniteness of art was predominant. This problem may not be solved only with the issue of design. And the value system of life and the thought to be the basis pf value will have to change. This thought may not change over once. But we have Feng-Shui thought to the original flow of thought and to be universal in speculation system also. Consequently human beings can maintain his healthy life through harmony with nature as a part of ecosystem. The culture as a concept compared with nature will be by far deepen, giving and taking the close, reciprocal effects within the relativity of culture, man and nature based in human beings. Oriental feng-shui men think earth and nature as alive organism. And so those who believe in feng-shui think that matter and spirit exists in the earth together the consciousness and materal co-exist is proved in the quantum mechanics to handle atom and elementary particle etc. In the side of design also, Feng-Shui is the thinking system of usable color up to the relation, arrangement and form of the physical element to color as well as it. As feng-shui men construed the relativity of culture, human beng and nature organically on the basis of feng-shui theory, feng-shui has occupied a position as a real life philosophy in our life for thousands of years. Feng-shui about interior as the empirical, scientific logic-system can be succeeded and applied to the interior through the organic analysis on the basis of culture-human beings-nature. Feng-Shui theory about interior suitable for the present period can be developed and applied to our residence environment. The significance of this study on feng-shui interior consists not only the understanding of Korean feng-shui but also the grasp of the substance of nature. It is likely that this will contribute to the development of modern science. If the symmetrical view of nature of feng-shui is applied to feng-shui interior effectively, the value of Korean feng-shui will be able to recognized afresh. As for contents of study, this researcher discussed about the present viewpoints on the necessity of Feng-Shui study and the science nature and superstitious nature of Feng-Shui and about the issues of terms in introduction part and had the course to draw a conclusion through the theoretical study of Feng-Shui, the modern interpretation of Feng-Shui, the programming of dwelling color of Feng-shui, and the course of application case of residential design. Finally, this research attempted the creative methods of approach through the harmony with the oriental thinking and scientific method for the usage of desirable feng-shui interior correctly but also construe the substance of environment and nature.
