Abstract

Pursuing the beauty is human instinct and such instinct set human beings to use make up from primitive times in displaying their status, protecting and decorating themselves and a means to express themselves beautifully. Especially, the increase in cultural level has fastened the information transmission contributing to the increase in interest in appearance, and so it has occupied an important position as a means of transmission nowadays. Due to the development of mass media, complicated and various information are flooding incurring the faster change in trend, make up also steadily changes under the cultural. social influence to the stream of the times, and the make up in fashion induced the change in wedding make up. Such change in make up affected wedding makeup also to follow the times in change. The diffusion of color TV made the diversified makeup color appear in 1980s, ending up of natural expression in skin, emphasis on lips with red and orange colors, along with eye shadow color diversified into brown, gold, khaki, orange, pink etc in fashion. Such trend influenced wedding make up to appear as natural expression in skin and dominant brown, pink, calm colors of brick series with red, orange, pink colors which focused on lips. Generally, make up trend affected wedding make up in 1990s also, and ecological typed thick and cubic sense of make up changed into natural make up approaching the latter half which happened identically on the wedding make up, a little stuffy look of thick expression in skin at first gradually changed into beautiful and gorgeous look, But blackish red, silver colors that doesn't match the image of pure bride were not seen in wedding make up. With the turn of 2000s, the fever of 'wellbeing' influenced make up as the natural make up rather than artificial make up to be in fashion and, clear, transparent skin expression was focused above all. Due to the moist skin, glossy make up trend, pearl-contained products were used much in expressing skin, eye make up, lips make up variously. In general, make up trend influenced wedding make up in the way of focusing on expression in skin and so skin were expressed clear and transparent while eye shadow were expressed lightly with pearl contained pink, violet, brown, coral and orange. Lips were expressed with pink, orange, brown colors and finished freshly with gloss. But dark and vivid series in smoky make up among make up trend, were expressed as softer color instead of being expressed intact for wedding make up. The comparison . analysis on makeup and wedding make up design between the year of 1980s to 2000s showed an influence, and the purpose of this study is to suggest the basis of wedding make up design in future by proposing current make up trend-based works of wedding make up.
