카페형 자동차 전시장의 '제3의 공간' 특성

Abstract

Today's modern society due to the development of industry and technology can be called the age of culture, sensitivity and experience. Consumers' consumption patterns are also changing as the quality of life becomes higher and more abundant. In exploiting space, we want to share various and more information through different experiences rather than simply servicing its purpose. In keeping up with this trend, companies are encouraging communication with consumers through a space where they can experience various aspects such as corporate social image, exhibition, culture, and event more than a mere marketing environment just to pursue profit, For example, a café-type car exhibition hall is a new space shape to meet the needs of consumers and the changing marketing strategies of these companies. Cafe automobile exhibition space is literally a new form of café in automobile exhibition hall. A car is a high-involvement product, but it is not easy to sell after produced it at a factory. As a result, car companies are creating a new space for promoting functions and design of automobiles, and adding new additional functions to the form of past simple exhibition space and are encouraging consumers to get various experiences and information. Automobile companies are showing various forms of complex cultural spaces. The cafe automobile exhibition space, which combines the coffee market and the exhibition hall meets the diverse needs and needs of consumers by building a brand image of automobiles and companies to prospective customers in addition to direct consumers. These café-type automobile exhibition halls are the 'third space'. The 'third space', not home and work, but is an informal public place where anyone can enjoy comfort without being discriminated. In the 'third space' where social status or class is not important, one can alone or more people can enjoy leisure life. In the automobile exhibition hall, which is a representative example of the 'third space', consumers can enjoy a variety of direct and indirect experiences by visiting various places and this allows automotive companies to gain long-term marketing effects for future profits

Accordingly, the 'third space' characteristic that induces exhibition viewing naturally at the cafe automobile exhibition space that enhances the satisfaction of consumers is analyzed and a checklist is prepared. Based on this, the purpose of this study is to analyze and propose an effective spatial characteristic method by conducting questionnaires to consumers.

Through the literature survey and previous research, I will examine the present situation and the change of the automobile exhibition hall through domestic and overseas case of automobile consumption trend. After that, I will summarize the space composition of the cafe automobile exhibition space through the precedent research and direct visits of the case sites. The conceptual and spatial characteristics of 'the third space' are examined through a theoretical review, and a checklist is extracted based on the field survey of four case sites. The questionnaires were prepared by applying the checklist was conducted on the field to consumers who visited the case sites and <Visit types and Usage>, <Characteristics of the Third Space>, and <Satisfaction and Revisit intent> were conducted on the field. A total of 50 questionnaires were distributed, of which 160 were used excluding 10 omitted or ineffective questions.

Through this study, it was found that the cafe automobile exhibition space has a positive effect on the customers, and the space where the newly added function of the cafe combined with the simple exhibition space induces consumers to relax and view the exhibition. Consumers have considered the characteristics of always receiving information by anyone at anytime is important. In terms of space satisfaction, direct experience and space design concept are more important than corporate brand in cafe automobile exhibition space. In other words, car companies not only have to provide a variety of experiences, but also provide customers with a visual experience through a space design with concept including interior elements. In addition to spatial satisfaction, this can enhance brand image.

The study of 'the third space' characteristic in the car exhibition hall that combined the cafe is significant to indicate the effect of improving the corporate image by attracting diverse consumers. In the future research, it is necessary to study detailed research on designing space to attract consumers to visit again in addition to improving the corporate brand and image in the cafe automobile exhibition space with the 'third space' characteristic applied. | 산업 및 기술의 발전으로 인한 오늘날의 현대사회는 문화, 감성, 체험의 시대라고 할 수 있다. 삶의 질이 높아지고 풍요로워지면서 소비자들의 소비행태 또한 변화하고 있다. 공간을 이용함에 있어서 단순한 목적이 아닌 색다른 경험을 통해 다양하고 더 많은 정보의 공유를 원하고 있는 것이다. 이에 맞춰 기업들은 단순한 물리적 이윤추구를 위한 마케팅 환경에서 나아가 기업의 사회적 이미지 및 전시, 문화, 이벤트 등 다양한 경험이 가능한 공간을 통해 소비자와 커뮤니케이션을 유도하고 있다. 최근들어 이러한 기업의 마케팅 전략 변화와 소비자들의 욕구 충족을 위한 새로운 공간 형태의 모습을 보이는 카페형 자동차 전시장을 그 예로 들 수 있다. 카페형 자동차 전시장은 말 그대로 자동차 전시장에 카페가 접목된 새로운 형태이다. 자동차는 고 관여 제품으로 공장에서 생성된 후 상품화하여도 판매가 용이하지 않다. 이에 따라 자동차 기업들은 자동차의 기능 및 디자인을 홍보할 수 있는 새로운 공간을 연출하고 있으며 과거의 단순한 판매전시공간의 형태에 새로운 부가기능을 추가하여 소비자들이 다양한 체험 및 정보를 제공받을 수 있도록 유도하고 있다. 자동차 기업들은 다양한 복합문화공간의 형태를 보여주고 있다. 최근 소비트렌드의 하나인 커피시장과 전시장을 접목한 카페형 자동차 전시장은 직접적인 소비자 외에 잠재고객들에게 자동차 및 기업의 브랜드이미지를 구축하여 소비자들의 다양한 욕구 및 필요를 충족시키고 있다. 이러한 카페형 자동차 전시장은 ‘제3의 공간’이다. 집과 직장이 아닌 ‘제3의 공간’은 비공식적인 공공장소로 누구나 차별없이 편안함을 즐길 수 있다. 사회적 직위나 신분이 중요치않은 ‘제3의 공간’에서는 혼자 또는 다수가 여가생활을 즐길 수 있다. ‘제3의 공간’의 대표적인 예인 카페와 접목된 자동차 전시장에서 소비자들은 다양한 목적을 가지고 방문하여 색다른 직·간접적인 체험을 즐길 수 있으며, 이를 통해 자동차 기업은 차후에 생길 수 있는 이윤을 위한 장기적인 마케팅 효과를 볼 수 있다.

이에 따라 카페형 자동차 전시장에서 자연스러운 전시관람을 유도하고 소비자의 만족도를 높이는 ‘제3의 공간’ 특성을 분석하고 체크리스트를 작성한다. 이를 바탕으로 사례대상지를 이용한 소비자들에게 설문조사를 실시하여 효과적인 공간 특성 방안을 분석하고 제안하는데에 본 연구의 목적이 있다.

문헌조사와 선행연구를 통해 자동차 소비트렌드 국내 및 해외사례를 통한 자동차 전시장의 현황 및 변화에 대해서 알아본 후 선행연구와 사례 대상지의 직접방문을 통해 카페형 자동차 전시장 공간 구성에 대해 정리한다. ‘제3의 공간’의 이론적 고찰을 통해 개념, 공간 특성을 알아보고, 사례 대상지 4곳의 현장조사를 바탕으로 체크리스트를 추출한다. 체크리스트를 적용하여 작성된 설문지는 사례 대상지를 방문한 소비자를 대상으로 현장에서 실시되었으며, <방문형태 및 이용현황>, <‘제3의 공간’특성>, <만족도 및 재방문의도>에 대해 현장에서 실시하였다. 각 50부의 설문지를 배포하며 이 중 누락되거나 유효하지 않은 문항의 각 10부를 제외한 160부를 분석 자료로 사용하였다.

본 연구를 통해 카페형 자동차 전시장은 고객들에게 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 단순한 전시장의 형태에 새로운 카페의 부가기능이 접목된 공간은 소비자들의 자연스러운 휴식 및 전시관람을 유도하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 소비자들은 언제나 누구든지 부담 없이 정보를 제공받을 수 있는 특성을 중요하게 생각했다. 또한 공간 만족도에 있어서 카페형 자동차 전시장에서는 기업 브랜드 보다는 직접적인 체험 및 경험, 그리고 공간 디자인 컨셉이 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 자동차 기업은 다양한 경험을 제공해줘야 할 뿐 아니라 인테리어 요소를 포함하여 컨셉을 지닌 공간 디자인을 통해 고객에게 시각적인 경험을 제공해야 한다. 이는 공간 만족도와 더불어 브랜드 이미지를 높일 수 있을 것이다.

카페를 접목한 자동차 전시장에서의 ‘제3의 공간’ 특성에 관한 연구는 카페와 접목하여 다양한 소비자들을 유도하고 기업 이미지 향상의 효과를 나타내는데 의의가 있다. 향후 연구에서는 ‘제3의 공간’ 특성을 적용한 카페형 자동차 전시장에서의 기업 브랜드 및 이미지 향상과 더불어 소비자들의 재방문을 유도하는 공간 디자인 연출 대한 구체적인 연구가 필요하다고 본다.
