癡呆老人家族의 扶養負擔 輕減方案에 관한 硏究

Abstract

Among four world-wide diseases of Alzheimer, heart disease, cancer and stroke, Alzheimer is due to damaged brain cells and main occurs in seniors, therefore getting world-wide attention with the aging of population. It became an issue not only with medical interest but also political interest with relevancy to socio-economic problems. Especially related to aging of population, Alzheimer can be a big social problem. Increasing number of Alzhemier patients are not only an issue of patients themselves but also an issue of family who feel supporting burdensome. Also, bearing the load of supporting patient can be expand to being social problem. The burden of patients' families who are supporting cannot be underestimated as just 'nursing'. The nature of the Alzheimer requires supporting families being around the patient 24 hours a day, so it has a huge impact on socio-economic activities and comes with mental/physical pain. This research aims at finding out the load of supporting that patients' families are bearing, and the way to alleviate the pain for both paients and families based on the current situation of Korea. For this, I collected and analyzed related data and books to figure out the concept, type and characteristic of Alzhemer and the burden of supporting families. Also I collected books, publications, news and earlier reports to study the abroad cases and domestic cases of burden of supporting families. As a result, the problems that supporting families are having were studied in the aspect of facilities/service supports, direct supports and policy/institutional supports. As solutions for the problems, I classified them into 3 sections, improvement in facilities/service supports, direct supports, and policy/institutional supports as I did when classifying problems.
