初等學校 圖書館 文化프로그램에 관한 硏究

Abstract

독서는 사고력과 창의력을 신장시켜 21세기의 힘인 상상력을 발휘할 수 있는 초석을 다질 뿐만 아니라 학교교육에서 학생들의 학습 향상에 직접적인 원인이 되기 때문에 관심의 초점이 되고 있다. 이에 독서능력 향상에 대한 관심과 학교도서관의 중요성은 날로 증가하고 있다. 이와 같이 독서의 중요성이 강조됨에도 불구하고 많은 학생들이 책을 가까이하는데 어려움을 겪기도 한다. 이러한 학생들에게 책이 있는 문화활동 체험을 통해 책을 이해하고 친근하게 여기는 계기 마련이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 서울 지역에서 실시하고 있는 학교도서관 축제 프로그램 분석을 통해 책이나 도서관과 연관성이 깊은 프로그램을 제시하여 학교도서관 축제에 활용하는데 기여하고자 한다. 또한 바람직한 학교도서관 축제 활성화 방안을 제시함으로써 학교도서관 축제에 대한 인식변환의 계기를 마련하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위하여 서울 지역 10개 초등학교에서 실시하고 있는 학교도서관 축제를 조사 분석하였다. 우선 각 학교도서관의 축제 프로그램을 분석하고, 학교도서관 축제에 참여하고 있는 도서관 담당자, 학생을 대상으로 설문 및 면담조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다. 첫째, 10개 학교도서관 축제의 프로그램은 총 435개였으며, 이중 도서를 활용한 프로그램은 238개로 54.7%의 도서활용률을 나타냈다. 프로그램 개발은 도서관 담당자뿐만 아니라 학부모 명예사서, 교사, 어린이사서 등 여러 분야의 사람들이 참여하여 프로그램의 다양성을 꾀하고 있었다. 또한 프로그램에 난이도를 두어 학생들 수준에 맞는 프로그램을 체험하도록 하였다. 둘째, 학교도서관 축제를 유형별로 진행하는 학교가 많았는데 십진분류기호별로 진행한 학교의 경우 학생들이 십진분류기호의 개념을 잘 알게 된 것으로 조사되었다. 셋째, 학교도서관 축제를 통한 학교도서관 활성화와 책에 대한 이해증진은 학생들의 도서대출량으로 알 수 있는데 조사 결과 학교도서관 축제 전후 한 달간의 도서대출량이 대부분의 학교도서관에서 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 도서관 활성화 측면에서도 학생들이 학교도서관 축제가 끝나고 책과 도서관에 대한 관심이 높아졌다고 응답하여 학교도서관 축제의 효용성을 증명하고 있었다. 넷째, 학교도서관 축제에 대해 도서관 담당자, 학생의 만족도가 높게 나타나 학교도서관 축제의 긍정적인 효과를 알 수 있었다. 다섯째, 학교도서관 축제에 대한 문제점으로는 학교와 교사 및 학부모의 비협조, 프로그램 부족, 사서의 업무 과다, 학생들의 시간 부족으로 나타났다. 도서관 담당자와 학생들을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과 및 학교도서관 축제 보고서 분석을 토대로 학교도서관 축제 활성화에 대해 다음과 같이 제언하였다. 첫째, 장서를 기반으로 한 프로그램 개발을 위해 문화 관련 연수나 교육을 정례화 시켜야한다. 둘째, 학교도서관 축제는 십진분류기호별로 진행하며 타 학교로 확대 실시하여야 한다. 셋째, 학교도서관 축제에 대한 인식전환으로 학교도서관 축제의 활성화를 꾀해야 한다. 넷째, 시ㆍ도 교육청별로 학교도서관 축제에 대한 평가회 및 결과보고서를 발간하여야 한다. 이 연구 결과를 통해 책이나 도서관과 연관성이 깊은 학교도서관 축제의 방향을 제시하고, 도서관에 대한 인식변환의 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. | Reading strengthens thinking power and creativity, thereby not only solidifying a cornerstone available for displaying imagination, which is the power in the 21st century, but also becoming the direct cause for enhancing students' learning in the school education, resulting in becoming the focus of interest. Accordingly, the interest in enhancing the reading ability and the importance of the school library are growing day by day. In this way, the importance of reading is emphasized. Nevertheless, many students ever suffer difficulty in being close to a book. An opportunity needs to be arranged that allows these students to understand a book and to be familiar with it through experiencing the cultural activity with a book. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to contribute to being applied to the school-library festival by suggesting a program of having deep connection with book or library through analyzing the school-library festival program that is being carried out in Seoul region. Also, the aim is to arrange an opportunity of a change in recognition on the school-library festival by proposing a plan for vitalizing the desirable school-library festival. For this study, it surveyed and analyzed school-library festival that is being carried out in 10 elementary schools of Seoul region. First of all, it analyzed the festival program of each school library, and carried out questionnaire and interview survey targeting people in charge of library and students who are participating in school-library festival. The findings can be summarized as follows. First, the programs of 10 school-library festivals were totally 435 pieces. Among these things, the programs of utilizing books were 238 pieces, thereby having indicated the book-application ratio of 54.7%. Development in program was being devised diversity in program with participation by people in several fields such as parents' honorary librarians, teachers, and children's honorary librarians as well as people in charge of library. Also, it made it available for being experienced a program in line with students' level by putting difficulty level in program. Second, there were many schools that progress school-library festival by type. In case of schools, which progressed it by Decimal Classification, the students were surveyed to have come to well know a concept of Decimal Classification. Third, the activation of school library and the promotion in understanding about a book through school-library festival can be known by students' book lending volume. As a result of surveying, the book lending volume in one month before and after school-library festival was indicated to have increased in most of school libraries. Also, even in the aspect of vitalizing library, the students responded as saying of having gotten higher interest in book and library after the school-library festival was finished. Thus, effectiveness of school-library festival was being proved. Fourth, as for school-library festival, the satisfaction of people in charge of library and students was indicated to be high. Thus, the positive effect of school-library festival could be known. Fifth, problems about school-library festival were indicated to be non-cooperation among school, teachers, and parents, the lack of program, the librarian's excessive task, and students' lack of time. Based on analyzing the results of questionnaire survey targeting people in charge of library and students and on the reports of school-library festival, the following suggestions were made on activation of school-library festival. First, for developing program based on books, there is necessity for making it regular for the culture-related training or education. Second, the school-library festival needs to be progressed by Decimal Classification and to be carried out by being expanded into other schools. Third, there is necessity for devising activation of school-library festival with a change in recognition of school-library festival. Fourth, there is necessity for publishing the appraisal and the result report on school-library festival by siㆍdo Office of Education. Through the results of this study, it is expected to be likely to possibly suggest the direction of school-library festival with deep connection to book or library, and arrange an opportunity of a change in recognition of library.
