Abstract
영문초록 포함|This study aims to inquire into the association between elementary teachers' teaching profession consciousness, and morale and then present the basic material for the elevation of their morale. As a consequence of inquiry, the following findings were obtained:
1) It was shown that teachers thought positively of their teaching profession consciousness overall.
It was revealed that female elementary teachers felt more satisfied with their teaching profession than male counterparts in terms of sex, and chairpersons responded that the teaching profession position. and alma mater, but it was revealed that there was a significant difference in teaching profession consciousness between teachers in terms of the school size.
And the current positions of teachers were shown to seldom exert an effect on their teaching profession consciousness. Judging from the above findings, it can be seen that the teachers's consciousness exerts an influence on the sub-factor as a whole in terms of the school size. It could be found that the teacher's gender exercised an influence on his/her satisfaction with the teaching profession, and it was analyzed that the teacher's alma mater had an effect on his/her professional consciousness of the teaching profession.
Taken together, it can be said that teachers show a difference in the level of teaching profession consciousness according to his/her personal traits, and exhibits a difference in the level of teaching profession consciousness, depending on the school size.
2) As for the teacher's morale, morale consciousness was shown to be highest in relation to a sense of achievement and status guarantee overall, followed by human relations, and then a sense of stability. It was shown that teachers' morale for administration and institution, advancement, working environment, and pay was somewhat low, which is led to be reconsidered in association with the turnover rate.
It was revealed that the difference of morale scores as a whole was statistically significant according to alma mater when, seen in terms of background factors. Seen in terms of sub-factors, it was revealed that female elementary teachers had a more positive response to a sense of achievement and pay than male counterparts, and female teachers had higher morale than male teacher overall. It was shown that male elementary teachers had higher morale in a sense of stability, administration and institution. and human relations associated with solidarity with the schoolmaster than female elementary teachers, which indicates that male elementary teachers are thinking of the teaching profession as their life-long career and maintaining the sound human relationship to superiors and fellow teachers.
3) As for the relationship between the teacher's teaching profession consciousness and morale, it was revealed that teaching profession consciousness as a whole and morale as a whole had statistically significant correlation coefficient of 48. As a result of inquiring into the correlation between sub-domains such as teaching profession consciousness and morale as a whole, it was revealed that there was the positive correlation of the moderate level of 21 to 45.
This correlation was the positive relationship overall, and statistically significant. But, it was revealed that teachers' pay consciousness had a negative correlation efficient of -.19 to -.14, which indicates that teachers are dissatisfied with pay because their pay is low in comparison with other occupational categories.
