靑少年 藥物濫用 對策에 관한 硏究

Abstract

In korean society, it is widely acknowledged that issues related to teenagers are getting more serious. Increasing number of suicide, violence, substance abuse involves teens. Though not a single issue related to teens cannot be regarded lightly, special attention should be paid to teen substance abuse because of its deadly impact on teens themselves. It not only causes learning disability, emotional disturbance, but sometimes leads to risky sexual relationship, cancer and heart failure which would eventually lead to increase mortality rate later on. Substance abuse not only takes heavy toll on individual but the general society because it often associates with crimes before and after taking substances. Teenagers often commit crimes to get money to obtain substances, and substance abuse frequently leads teens to crimes while they are under the influence. Another major concern is curiosity and peer pressure. In many cases, teens are often allured to try substances by their peer. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see how serious substance abuse among teens is, what are the problems caused by substance abuse and what can be done to make young adults drug free. The study is focused on teens' substance abuse including tobacco, alcohol, and narcotics. This study is based on books, journals, magazines, and dissertations as well as programs and seminar resources released by welfare centers. In addition, referred statistics are garnered from Korea Association against Drug Abuse and The Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office website. Combining statistics and theoretical studies, this study is to thoroughly analyze the cause and effect of teen substance abuse. The relevant questions are as follows; First, What is the definition of substance and substance abuse? What are the symptoms of substance abuse? How does substance abuse effect teens? Second, how serious is substance abuse among youth group? What are the psychological, social and biological cause of substance abuse? Third, What are the consequences of teen substance abuse? What are the measures to tackle teen substance abuse?
