Abstract
영문초록 포함|This study was concerned with on investigation on special vocational school teachers' perceived view of teaching profession and job satisfaction. It teachers specialists have a knowledge needed to guide students, make an original effort at instructional method and techniques and the ability to mange students, and hold a sincere view of teaching profession and job satisfaction, vocational education can be expected to develop. Owing to a need to study this very point, the purpose of study was set and the study was conducted.
In the questionnaire research, percentage and x 2-test were conducted by teacher's background factor using the SAS(Statistical Analysis System) program.
As result of conducting this study, the following conclusion could be drawn:
Firstly, it was predicted that the degree of the view of teaching profession perceived by special vocational school would drop more or less than school teachers under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, but the point that its result showed its moderate level is the part evaluated to be positive.
Secondly, it was shown that the group of male teachers perceived the view of teaching profession to be higher than the group of female teacher.
Thirdly, it was shown that the group of teachers in the department of engineering perceived the view of teaching profession to be overall high while the group of guidance teachers had a high level of autonomy(individual and group).
Forthly, the group of teachers with the teaching career of 11 to 15 years was shown to have the high view of teaching profession.
Fifthly, it was shown that the group of graduates from junior college had the high perceived view of teaching profession in terms of academic background, and the view of teaching profession was shown to be evenly distributed among teachers.
Sixthly, it was shown that teachers' level of the perception autonomy was more or less low than the average level.
It is questionable if this was attributed to the administration centered policy and instruction of the operational entity lacking in specialty relation to vocational education.
Seventhly, teachers were shown to have an average degree of job satisfaction but they showed a tendency to be the more or less low degree of nonessential job satisfaction.
An analysis was made as to what correlation the teacher's understanding of specialty had with job satisfaction.
As a result, it was found that the teacher's perception of specialty had the positive correlation with the degree of job satisfaction overall.
This result is to a conclusion that the teacher's level of perception specialty had a close relationship to the degree of job satisfaction.
Accordingly, this study confirmed that special vocational schoolteachers' perception of the view of teaching profession could enhance the degree of job satisfaction. And it may be seen that there was not a statistically significant difference by sex, by teaching career, by academic background, by position and by servive.
Because there were more or less limitations in generalizing the findings of this study, a perfect conclusion could not be drawn.
It could be certainly made clear that previous studies were consistent with the result of this study that there was a thread of connection between perception the perceived view of teaching profession and job satisfaction.
Based upon the findings of this study, an attempt was made to make the following suggestions:
Firstly, since special vocational schoolteachers' perception of the view of teaching profession has a close relationship to job satisfaction, the school authorities or the policy authorities will need policy and leadership in consideration of this point.
Secondly, the public special vocational school will have to concentrate its efforts on securing the specialty enabling the guidance of supervisory functions rather than the adminstration-centered function together with the elevation of autonomy with a view to developing under the jurisdiction of the Seoul city.
