Thus, its aim is to be conducive to increasing beauticians' pride and self-respect and enhancing quality of life as a professional careerman through suggesting the developmental direction for enhancing positive self-esteem.
The preceding researches on job training so far has addressed just relationship between response evaluation and learning performance after educational training, but are in a situation that is short of a research on beauticians' emotional aspect, namely, on self-respect or self-esteem so that beauticians can recognize own value and feel them as important existence. Thus, this study was felt to be necessary.
The questionnaire research for this study was carried out targeting beauticians who are receiving or having ever received job education in Seoul region and Gyeonggi region. The collected data was analyzed by using SPSS for Window 12.0 Program. Through data analysis, the following conclusions could be obtained.
First, the demographic characteristics in survey subjects were composed of young brackets in their 20s~30s. In light of job characteristic, the female ratio was high. However, the male ratio could be known to be growing gradually. Also, due to expansion in opening the beauty-related department and to diversification in route of academic degree compared to before, those in more than junior-college graduate were indicated to be over 60%. Even beauticians' academic background is expected to be gradually high academic career in the future. In job position, designers with over 5 years were possessing the large ratio with more than 40%. In career, designers with over 5 years were indicated to be high with 43.1%. Job position and career can be seen to be formed with the relatively uniform distribution. As for a type in beauty salon, the franchise beauty-salon type was 83.7%. Individual beauty-salon type was 16.3%. Thus, the individual beauty salon was indicated to be short of execution of job education yet.
Second, the job training could be known to have significant influence upon self-esteem. Adequacy in contents among constitutional factors was analyzed to have the most significant influence upon self-esteem. It was indicated that job education is necessary for having occupational consciousness and that manager's consciousness is important for carrying out job education. The important result, which came to be obtained through survey, is a point that beauticians are recognizing the human-nature education and service contents to be important, not technique. Accordingly, it could be known to possibly enhance customers' satisfaction with high-quality service with having desirable nature through the human-nature education as well as technical education for beauticians.
Third, out of self-esteem after job education, the response as saying that "I think that I can work well enough for other person" was high. Ultimately, it can be seen to be indicated that beauticians realize them to be valuable existence while satisfying at proceeding with filling up own insufficient parts through education, and get higher in positive self-esteem through this.
Fourth, the enhancement in self-esteem can be known to have significant influence upon reduction in turnover ratio, satisfaction with job, and improvement in productivity. It can be known that job education leads to reduction in a desire for turnover and to thinking job to be proud, and that this results in leading to enhancement in sales. Due to enhancement in professional technique and development in ability that are required for own ability according to job education, the judgment or evaluation in own value gets higher. Thus, self-esteem could be known to be indicated positively.
Through this study, the result was elicited that the job education has significant influence upon beauticians' positive self-esteem, that positive self-esteem enhances beauticians' job satisfaction, and that the reduction in turnover ratio and enhancement in productivity through job satisfaction can have good effect on beauty industry. Given being continued a research on beauty field as for a research on job education and positive self-esteem without stopping here, the beauticians' positive self-esteem is expected to be likely to give employment stability to beauty industry.
For activating job education, it is thought to be needed an alternative plan and countermeasure for individual beauty salons as well as franchise beauty salons. In light of characteristics in individual beauty salon, the job education is thought to be difficult to be carried out. To solve this problem, if education is carried out by forming group in individual beauty salons, or if agency occurs that acts as the job education and staff management targeting individual beauty salons, even the education of individual beauty salons is thought to be probably able to be educated systematically. After all, the job education is a core tool for managing beauty industry, and is required for all of workers. It is thought that there is necessity for having more interest in increasing self-esteem as a professional careerman by investing self-development positively.
