As a result, it was found that for the social workers responded that the general public should be changed(63%) and the Persons with disability should be actively changed(23%).
Fifth, it was found that the general people responded to the image of the Persons with disability in orders of 'They have a strong self-pride'(32.1%), 'It is difficult to make friends'(26.7%), and 'They are pure'(23.4%), whereas the social workers responded to it in orders of 'It is difficult to make friends'(23%),'They are pure'(16% and 'They have a strong self-pride'(14%).
Sixth, subjects were asked to respond to the question of experiences in helping the Persons with disability. As a result, 73.8% of the subjects were found to have experiences in helping the Persons with disability. And 41.9% pointed out that 'It is better to work with the Persons with disability in the long run though there may be some problem. '45.9% and 42.4% of the general people showed a very positive response, respectively.
Eighth, as for whether there was a need for the improvement of the welfare system for the Persons with disability, there was a slight numerical difference between both groups. The group of the social workers showed a slightly higher numerical level of the need than that of the general people. Both of the groups keenly felt a need for the improvement of the social system for the Persons with disability as well as a high interest in it.
Ninth, as for the question on the prospect of the future measure for the Persons with disability, 92% of the social workers responded that 'It would become better', followed by 'It would remain unchanged'(5%) and 'It would become worse'(2%). Therefore, it is predicted that the prospect of the welfare system for the Persons with disability will be bright.
Taken together, the group of the social workers having frequent contact with the Persons with disability in the nearest distance had a higher awareness of and attitudes toward the Persons with disability than that of the general people. Especially, they pointed out that the policy for the Persons with disability was not enough. This is very positive in terms of the specialist who provide direct welfare services for the Persons with disability. It is judged that it will be helpful in improving the awareness by the general public about the Persons with disability. Especially, seeing that an absolute majority of the social workers responded that government or public organizations as the primary agent of protecting the handicapped should take responsibility for them, it can be said that the welfare for the Persons with disability is very hopeful.
