Suggestion is made of analyzing the results of this study, and the object of this case study is the aged people in the old people's home and they have asked to get a hospice care at one time when they have got a critical condition by a geriatric disease or a specific affection, so they take a alternative's.
A period of research is from the June of 1997 to the October of 2002 and participants are 6. It investigates what kind of care is required properly for each needs to get rid of the needs of hospice care throughout offering a care to each needs after interpreting the theory of A.H. Maslow that basis five needs of man as to the five needs of hospice care.
The purpose of this study is to activate the hospice service in the welfare facilities of aged as being understood the necessity of hospice care to the old people who live in an asylum.
To sum up of this study,
The first, in the general peculiarity of paticipants, woman has been more experienced of alternatives to the hospice care from the distribution of sex, the old who are in eightieth show more experience from the distribution of age, and the frequency of guardian who has family members in a direct line is one third in point of existence and nonexistence of guardian.
The second, as to a disease type, a cancer is the largest number of case as 4, one is a glycosuria and the other one is a general offection. In care period, 15 months is the longest term, and next period goes in the order of 9 months, 7 months, 6 months and 4 months is the shortest one.
The third, according to the needs of hospice care, the highest level of functioning is labeled the safety and security needs, the others are in the order of the love and belonging needs, the self-actualization needs, the physiological needs, and the esteem needs.
The safety and security needs indicates the highest frequency in this case study even though A.H. Maslow found a theory which the physiological needs is the strongest function among the basis five needs of man. It is considered the reason of this result that the safety and security needs works more strongly when a man is at a critical moment of death, but a deep study seems to be required because this study do not include every points of subjects.
The fourth, four cases are not fulfilled 100% of economical assistance from a medical insurance system, and it shows the critical point of national policy to a medical insurance.
The fifth, it makes out the insufficiency of manpower when the aged are in the hospital and they go to a hospital as an outpatient, the result of this study verifies it as showing the low frequency of family members in a direct line.
As the outcomes, suggestions to give a high quality hospice care service to the aged who live in the free institution for the aged are that a specialized mobilization of manpower should be systematized as soon as possible, and a medical insurance system should cover a wide range, and a sick-nurse system should be set-up.
