Abstract
There were basically lots of weaknesses on the education for drug prevention in the United States. The result brought about various negative outcomes. In that process, however, the new important causes in the drug abuse of American juveniles found one by one, and it also contributed to developing some new orientations in the new model for drug prevention. Through these processes, currently, there offered some effective models for drug prevention as follows:

Firstly, the new preventive model re-interpreted the ineffective limitations of the previous model in the integrated perspective. Secondly, the new one found some problems of the previous one and offered some reforms. Thirdly, The new one tried to continue making the better model. Fourthly, the new one regarded drug abusers as patients, not criminals, in the medical perspective and offered new integrated strategies for them.

The program for drug prevention has to suggest various working strategies not only educational processes within school but also out of school such as families, communities, etc. This paper is to find some implications on programs for drug prevention being able to apply in Korea after examining some successful cases for drug prevention in both in schools and out of schools in the US.

In sum, it is not easy to make effects on public health if there is no exact approach as well as no state-level approach in the prevention against drug abuse. The main gaol of this thesis is to suggest some ways that are both to check something proved preventive program with effectiveness and to prevent some obstacles against its supply and application.
