디자인의 의미체계에 대한 개념적 고찰

Abstract
This thesis is prepared to study the new potential discussion of design with the attempt to recognize logical limitation of design related with our life.
Our daily life has order but includes change. But from the view point of main design discussion, it is assumed that objectivity and stationariness of design is premised and that change is subsidiary. Contrary to the above phenomenon this thesis is seeking a method in which order and change are treated equally. As the structural methodology shown in 「Logique Du Sens」 by Gilles Deleuze accords with the writer's intention of this thesis, it forms the ideal frame of this thesis.
Discussions are always composed of conditions available to communicate with each other. General design discussion is premised as a objective code meanwhile the dimension of 'creation' is extorted as a premise in this thesis. Meaning condition of design related with desire, symbol, and physical conception is compared with the traditional discussion so that design may be described in the level of creation. Lastly, a brief sketch for the following study is made.
In chapter II, the existing discussions on design are classified into productive conception and consumption conception to describe the standing point in chapter III, IV, V. As the design discussions centered on productive conception are composed of abstract ideas, they are functioning significantly even nowadays. The design discussion of consumption conception has comparatively shorter history than that of productive conception. The accepting concept of design has made its appearance around the time when post-modernism was on the rise and it has been applied as a cultural theory.
However, the recognition that a consumer is another producer who reproduces our hobbies leads a 'new discussion which views productive and consuming design discussion' desirable which can be described as uniform view point.
In chapter III, regarding 'Meaning of Desire and Design', the sexual desire which is most commonly talked about is discussed so that the concept of desiring structure may be considered. With the samples of magazine advertisements in fashion malls, productive desire and creative desire are explained in order to discuss that desires can not be seized in a same code.
In chapter IV, regarding 'Meaning of Symbol and Design', the concept of symbol is comparatively clear in social meaning but it is suggested that the meaning keeps unsecure condition in usual life. Symbol is always changing in spite of some level of the existence and this is explained as 'Change of Symbolic System' in the thesis. And the change is creative one not mechanical one. The 'Symbolic Effect' in the thesis indicates total features of the creative changes.
In chapter V, regarding 'Meaning of Physical body and Design', it is explained that today's discussions on physical body is coding. But 'physical body-phenomena' is required to be considered. In common life, physical body is composed of objective discussions, which is accelerated by mass communications. The existing discussions can not get out of this situations.
In chapter VI, it is suggested that power of life will be applied to the design discussion due to its relation with meaning systems. In conclusion, creation of meaning with the consideration of production idea is emphasized. The creation commonly existing with production idea cannot be a fixed situation. Therefore, a design discussion can be a new discussion with the creative idea intervened by the power of life.
