基督敎 禮排 舞踊의 靈的 機能에 대한 硏究
- Abstract
- The Bible records various dances that show the Hebrews gladness in praising God. The dance in the Bible was performed in daily life or festivals as an absolute component. It was also a mediator between God and the Hebrews, in order for them to get closer to the Lord as the God of Israel. The Hebrews praised and thanked God by dancing during the service and in the church during festivals, suggesting that the dance was one of the ways of expressing their gladness in the form of prayer.
The dance in the Bible was a religious dance performed during the holy religious service. It was a refreshing sight in the public service of ancient Hebrews. As the original version of the Bible shows, various forms and measures of dances were performed according to the purpose and objective of the dance.
Given the history of the dance that have changed alongside human history, a Christian worship dance as one of the religious dances was created based on Christian theology and used as a tool to praise God during the service. Today, it is being adopted in the Korean church, spreading throughout the nation.
We can see in the Bible that the dance was performed to express peoples joy, praise God, and celebrate war victory or a memorable day. This worship dance not only seeks to thank and praise God for His grace but also gives people who have physically and spiritually erred an opportunity for healing and restoration. More importantly, it paves the way to freedom, restores humanity, links the body and the sprit, and trains people physically and spiritually to enable them to experience directly the unity of the spirit, body, and emotion.
Against this backdrop, people reveal Gods glory and honor, experience Gods love through praise and dance, and, more importantly, gain inspiration and encouragement to proclaim Gods love and His word all over the world when they use the dance wisely during the service.
