교회 내 예배무용 사역을 위한 사례 연구

Abstract

현재 대부분의 교회는 무용을 예배의 한 요소로 인정하며 사용할 정도 로 무용을 도입, 장려하며 무용을 통해 예배를 활성화하고 있다. 하지만 이러 한 시점에 예배무용 사역에 관한 사례를 살펴봄으로써, 교회 안에서 예배무용 의 역할과 기능을 살피고 이들의 사역은 어떠한 체계 및 지지를 통해 이루어 지고 있는지 알아보는 것은 중요한 것 같다. 본 연구는 교회 내 예배무용 사역을 위한 사례 연구로 명성교회 『현대무 용 선교단』을 중심으로 살펴본 연구이다. 명성교회는 담임 목회자가 문화예 술에 대한 열린 마음으로 교회를 개척한 초기부터 다양한 문화예술의 도입과 장려로 인해 현재 교회 예배에서는 말씀과 함께 특별순서로 찬양, 기악, 무용 등의 공연이 매 예배마다 이뤄지고 있다. 또한 4000명 이상 대규모의 성가대 를 갖춘 특징적인 교회로 예배무용 사역도 다양한 후원과 지원 체계를 통해 장려되고 있다. 예배무용에 관하여 인터뷰 및 교회 홈페이지를 참고하여 조사 하였으며, 명성교회 예배무용 사역의 사례를 통해 본 특성은 다음과 같이 요 약할 수 있다. 첫째, 명성교회 예배무용 사역의 운영은 체계적으로 조직화된 구조를 갖추 어 운영되고 있다. 이는 단장과 부단장으로 구성된 제도 안에서, 이들은 무용단을 위해 물질 및 재정적 후원 외에도 기도로 예배무용 사역을 적극적으로 돕고 있다. 둘째, 명성교회의 예배무용 사역은 시설 및 장비 등의 지원으로 무용단의 전용 연습실뿐만 아니라 음악 시스템을 다양하게 지원받고 있으며, 교회 내 조명, 무대 장치 등의 장비가 구축되어 있다. 셋째, 명성교회 예배무용 사역은 교회 내 기독교 문화예술 사역팀들과 전 문성 및 예술성을 기반으로 한 협력 시스템을 유지하고 있다. 청년대학부 소속『댄스선교부』와 협업을 하며, 음악적인 측면에서는 교회 내 오케스트라 와의 협업도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 넷째, 명성교회 『현대무용 선교단』의 경우 예배무용 사역을 위해서 무용 수들의 신체 훈련과 영성 훈련의 조화로운 교육이 이루어지고 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 마지막으로, 교회는 무용단의 운영을 위한 예산을 확보하고 지도비, 의상 비 등의 재정적 지원을 하고 있다. 결론적으로 명성교회의 예배무용 사역은 체계적인 운영과 조직을 갖추고 있으며, 예배무용 사역의 완성도와 전문성 및 예술성을 높이기 위해 다양한 형태의 지원과 후원을 하면서 예배를 위한 무용의 역할을 충실히 해 나갈 수 있도록 다각적인 노력을 하고 있다고 볼 수 있겠다.

| Currently, most churches acknowledge dance as an element of worship, actively incorporating and encouraging its use to enhance and revitalize worship services. However, at this juncture, it seems crucial to examine cases related to worship dance ministry, exploring the role and functions of worship dance within the church. Investigating how these ministries are structured and supported becomes important. This study is a case study focusing on worship dance ministry within the church, with a particular emphasis on the 『Contemporary Dance Mission Team』 at Myeong-Seong Church. Since its early stages, Myeong-Seong Church, under the leadership of the senior pastor with an open heart for cultural arts, has actively introduced and encouraged various forms of cultural arts. As a result, the church's worship services now include special segments featuring praise, instrumental performances, dance, and more, alongside the sermon in every worship session. Furthermore, as a distinctive church with a large-scale choir comprising over 4,000 members, worship dance ministry is actively encouraged through diverse sponsorship and support systems. The characteristics of Myeong-Seong Church's worship dance ministry were investigated through interviews and references to the church's website. Summarizing the findings based on the case of worship dance ministry at Myeong-Seong Church, the following characteristics can be highlighted. First, the operation of Myeong-Seong Church's worship dance ministry is systematically organized. Within a structured framework consisting of a director and assistant director, they actively support the ministry through material and financial sponsorship, as well as prayer. Secondly, the worship dance ministry at Myeong-Seong Church receives diverse support, including dedicated rehearsal spaces for the dance team, as well as support for music systems. The church has also established equipment such as lighting and stage devices. Thirdly, the worship dance ministry at Myeong-Seong Church maintains a collaborative system with other Christian cultural arts ministries within the church, leveraging professionalism and artistic expertise. Collaboration with the 『Dance Mission Team』 under the Youth Ministry, and active cooperation with the church orchestra in musical aspects, is evident. Fourthly, in the case of Myeong-Seong Church's 『Contemporary Dance Mission Team』, there is a harmonious balance between physical and spiritual training for dancers involved in worship dance ministry. Lastly, the church secures a budget for the operation of the dance team, providing financial support for leadership fees, costumes, and other necessities. In conclusion, Myeong-Seong Church's worship dance ministry operates systematically and is well-organized. The church makes diverse efforts to elevate the completeness, professionalism, and artistic aspects of worship dance ministry through various forms of support and sponsorship. It is clear that the church is committed to faithfully fulfilling the role of dance in worship by making multifaceted efforts.
