고전소스를 활용한 드라마콘텐츠의 캐릭터 변용 양상 연구

Abstract

소스를 사용하여 콘텐츠를 만드는 경우 반드시 재연이 아닌 재창조를 전제로 한다. 소스를 그대로 재연하는 것은 새로운 콘텐츠라고 볼 수 없기 때문이다. 나아가 재창조에만 그치는 것이 아니라 대중에게 매력적인 콘텐츠로 만드는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구를 위해 캐릭터 연구를 거쳤고 이를 통해 캐릭터 분석의 새로운 방법론을 제시하였다. 먼저 인물을 구성하는 기본설정요소를 동일한 기준으로 두고 고전소스의 인물과 이를 활용한 드라마콘텐츠의 인물을 비교하였다. 그리고 드라마콘텐츠 인물의 말과 행동을 통해 성격을 추론하였고, 개발한 성격 분석도구를 사용하여 객관적 기준으로 성격을 판단할 수 있었다. 이 성격판단으로 고전소스의 인물과 드라마콘텐츠의 인물의 성격 변용의 차이와 정도를 확인할 수 있었다. 이 같은 과정으로 세 편의 드라마콘텐츠를 분석하였고, 그 결과 고전소스를 활용한 드라마콘텐츠 개발에서 나타난 캐릭터 변용 양상을 확인할 수 있었다. 이름, 성별, 가족 구성 등의 선천적 조건은 고전소스와 똑같이 활용한다. 반면 인물의 직업은 극의 성향에 따라 변용이 나타난다. 현대극의 경우 현대에 걸 맞는 인물로 변용되고 사극의 경우 고전소스와 같은 모습을 보인다. 기본설정요소의 변용에서 가장 뚜렷하게 나타나는 것은 주변 인물과의 관계이다. 고전소스를 활용하여 드라마콘텐츠를 만들 경우 새로운 적대자, 로맨스를 형성하는 인물의 구성이 필수적으로 나타난다. 드라마콘텐츠에서는 고전소스에는 등장하지 않는 새로운 적대적 인물을 삽입하여 극에 새로운 느낌을 실어주고, 주 캐릭터를 돋보이게 한다. 현대 드라마의 특성상 ‘러브 스토리’를 제외 할 수는 없다. 때문에 소스의 사랑 이야기가 있다면 그대로 수용하고, 없다면 새로운 적대적 인물을 애정 관계로 엮인 인물로 설정 한다. 캐릭터의 변용을 좀 더 자세히 살펴보기 위한 성격 분석 결과 4 가지 항목 중에서 모두 변용을 한 경우와 몇 가지의 항목만을 변용한 경우 등이 있었다. 일부라도 성격 변용이 있었다면 고전소스와는 다른 새로운 성격의 캐릭터로 변용되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.|Making contents by using a source necessarily requires recreation, not a rerun. Because rerunning the source as it is not new contents. Further, it is important to make contents attractive to the public people beyond recreation. In order to develop this study, I reviewed characters and as a result, suggested a new methodology for analyzing the characters. More than anything else, based on the same criterion for the basic factors which constitute the characters I compared the characters in the classic sources with those in the drama contents utilizing them. And I construed their personalities through the word and behavior of the characters of the drama contents and judged the personalities with an objective criterion by using a developed tool for analyzing a personality. With it, I could find the difference and degree of transforming the personality between the characters of the classic sources and those of the drama contents. With this process, I analyzed 3 drama contents and as a result, I was able to confirm the aspect of transforming the characters appearing in the dram contents utilizing classic sources. In the drama contents, utilizing of the innate factors, such as name, sex and family members is the same as shown in the classic sources. In the meanwhile, the job of the characters varies depending on the proposition of the drama. In a modern drama, the characters are transformed as a character meeting the modern days but historic dramas show the same character aspect as the classic sources. What is most striking in the transformation of the basic setting factors is the relationship with the surrounding characters. In the event of making a drama content by making use of a classic source, composition of the characters forming a new adversary and romance is definitely a must. A drama content inserts new antagonistic characters who do not appear in a classic source and conveys a new feeling to the drama, highlighting the main character. For the characteristic of the modern dramas, what you would call "love story" cannot be excluded. Thus, if there is a love story in a classic source, the drama content incorporates it as it is and if there is not, it plots a new antagonistic character as a character involving a loving relation. In the analysis of a personality to further explore into the transformation of characters, I found that there are cases of transformation falling under all of the 4 items and there are cases falling on some of them. part of those 4 items. The study reveals that partial personality transformation in a drama content means an appearance of the character bearing a new personality different from that of a classic source.
