E-Business 환경하에서 공급업체의 대응방안
- Abstract
- The recent development of information & communications technologies and the Internet media has made changes to almost all fields such as the production of products, the purchase of material and the process of consumption. It has actually made enterprises and individual dependent on the information system for business management activity and economic activity, respectively and speeded up the development of industrial society into the information-based society. In an information-based society, manufacturing enterprises have been compelled to make practical use of information & communications technologies in flexible production and corporate operation for survival. Thus, enterprises are not only making practical use of E-business in business-to-business transactions and business-to-consumer transactions but very actively taking advantage of it in the sectors of new product development and purchase. This has allowed enterprises to reduce purchase costs and labor costs and shorten the product life cycle, and improve customer services as well. Business automation has allowed enterprises to enjoy the advantage of business process improvement by simplifying business affairs and discovering and improving unnecessary business affairs. On the other hand, E-business has given manufacturer such tasks as the reduction of the development period, the flexibility of production, small quantity batch production, quality improvement, cost reduction, and competitiveness in the delivery period, corporate recognition and reliability and the like. To resolve these tasks, manufacturer are reinforcing their linkage with part-suppliers.
This study attempted to investigate how the business management environment of manufacturer, the customer of part-suppliers, was changed with the expansion of E-business. It also sought to investigate what effect E-business had on part-suppliers. And it attempted to probe the operation strategy of part-suppliers and their plan for enhancing competitiveness in keeping with the environmental changes such as changes in the manufacturer transacting with part-suppliers, the increased role of part-suppliers in the development process of new products and the like.
The results showed that part-suppliers should have not only traditional competitiveness in terms of quality, cost but also the date of delivery and make efforts to secure core technologies. And they should make practical use of E-business for the purpose of efficient business management and timely information utilization.
Manufacturer should keep in mind that it is impossible to secure competitiveness in the E-business environment without any cooperation of part-suppliers, and should make proper investment in them. Among other things, part-suppliers should make efforts to secure competitiveness to receive support from their manufacturer.
